I'm not sure if there new strategy of adding new classifieds sections will work. What advantage LeoList offer over Kijji as Classfields business?

I'm guessing they've decided to add these new classfieds sections based on some legal advice they were given. We'll see how many Pontiac sunfire's, hamsters and parakeets they're able to move over the next few months.

C'mon, you know you're gonna have to check that hamster on TinEye and Google image; otherwise your end with a Guinea Pig or a rabid leg nipping ferret.

I don't think they are too worried about it. There main focus is and always will be adult entertainment.
I have to agree. I think the change was meant to take the foucs off their main business vs. trying to compete with the big boys in the field.

Look at it from the plus side, now you might be able to find a happy ending and waffle maker at your local micro. Talk about one stop shopping:pound:

Asma,

Try switching to to the Google Chrome Browser to view LeoList. The new theme for the LeoList is using newer web standards that older versions of mobile Safari has issues rendering quickly. Google Chrome has newer browser that still runs on the 3GS phones that works better with newer web standards. There's also a compressor in the Chrome Browser that will help the site to load faster than older version of mobile Safari.

Have not province
I just viewed leolist on my 3GS. No problems here. However, mine is jailbroken and I'm using User Agent Faker, so I can view the non-mobile version of Leolist. Before that, Erslist would often crash Safari.

Not sure if this has been mentioned to any of the site admins about editing their ad to the new site name ???

http://perb.cc/home/advertise.php when clicking on the sponsors link on this page it still shows ERslist instead of the new name LeoList .

Sorry if this has already been mentioned but I didn't feel like reading through 6 pages of post

I have noticed. I also notice they are still advertising as ERSList here on perb. They have a rotating banner (above) and a thread under "Directories"
Do you know what I've noticed? "perb" is now one of the words that gets censored out of ads on LEOlist

I noticed that too today when I checked something.

Changing escorts to Companions is just semantics. The only thing that really matter is that your site is following the new laws. Getting rid of escorts is bad for new members searching for the site.

The odds some will do a Google search for Vancouver Escorts vs. Vancouver companions?

There is a banner that says NEW OWNERS
Noticed that. Wonder what they mean about "positive changes regarding the ads posted".
Improved (or reintroduction of) verification? Less censoring of words such as 'girlfriend' or 'PERB' or some of the less innocuous words?
Removal of adverts where images have been stolen from another lady?
An expectation that there will be truth in what is advertised and adverts will be pulled when they are proven to be misleading?

Chances are Meta tags on the website and on the search Provider will Direct Vancouver escort searches there as per normal.
In theory it should John. I've to do this on couple of sites before I've found several months of backlinking and setting up meta tags on directory sites was required to get bing and Google send visitors in the right direction. Goggle and Bing made this harder since blackhat marketers used meta tag tricks to up search engine rankings.

You're right John, but there's a lot pavement pounding required to make that work. If you just rely on meta tags then your site will end up on page 4-5 of that search.

Lazy people that are always trying to find work arounds have made life harder for legitimate webmasters.

LeoList was one of the few escort websites that really invested in Search engine optimization. It's the reason why they've been so successful. They rank higher than TERB with 1/2 the traffic.

The word Perb is probably prohibited in order to prevent posters from linking to reviews on Perb (a prohibited action).

I don't think the new owners purchased Leolist to reduce the ads - which translates to revenue - by 60 or 70 %,, which is what would happen if they followed the comments
in the 3rd. and 4th. line above.

I had no idea that Leolist had approx. 40,000 ads a week.--------- that relates to over 2 million ads a year ------ and even at a buck per add, that amounts to a very tidy sum...:thumb:

I'm thinking they'll introduce a new design. The current template has several annoying bugs. That would be my best guess.

Sarcasm doesn't register very well in the written form. No, I don't expect they would introduce measures that would result in a significant drop in advertising, which is why I was wondering what they meant by 'improvements.' Related to this is the question of who the improvements are for.

I'm sure that comment was directed at me.

I think you've been reading too many of my posts, ---- many of which are laced with sarcastic humor --- and you just took it for granted that my post #98 had to be sarcastic as well.

Well, blow me off and suck me down, (or maybe it's the other way around), I did not include a single sarcastic comment in that post.

All I was saying is that I don't think Leolist will remove ads that are stolen from other ladies, or ads that are proven to be misleading, because 60 to 70% of the ads fit that mold, ----- which means that they would have to reduce their revenue by the same percentage.

Oh, and BTW, it was you, hornygandalf, that wrote the following 2 lines in your post #95, and I only commented on them.

" Removal of adverts where images have been stolen from another lady?
An expectation that there will be truth in what is advertised and adverts will be pulled when they are proven to be misleading?"

Also, one more thing ---- I purposely injected some sarcasm in my comments above, but you probably won't even notice, because 'Sarcasm doesn't register very well in written form', according to you....................So, no harm, no foul....:high5:
