Ebonics? WTF!

Seems Nik Lewis from the Calgary Stampeders is pissed because an on-field official told him he didn't understand Ebonics, after being lambasted by Lewis. Shit, I had to look up the meaning of that term, let alone understand half of the slang talk that some southern blacks use in daily conversations, particularly with one another.

Are we becoming so fucking PC that, what I attribute to be a valid response by a football official, or anyone for that matter, someone has to shout "Racism" every time we ask for a clearer dialogue. Lewis should have know better, but his emotions were so charged up by having the TD nullified on the field and by the league, that he now is prepared to go to the Supreme Court to seek damages.

Some school in Oakland has been all over the news for promoting "ebonics". Claiming that those who speak Ebonics as well as English are "bi-lingual". Total joke - and of course it went entirely too far. Those that lean to the right along with a handful of black celebrities had to speak out against universities actually offering Ebonics classes and using the same "bi-lingual" classifications as the original dumb ass school board. I don't have any idea whether or not they succeeded.

It's beyond me why speaking like an undereducated dumbass would be embraced by ANY race. Maybe Redneck-onics or Hillbilly-onics would bring the ridiculous nature of Ebonics to light.

They tried to push Ebonics through the school system in California a few years ago. The schools system said "not on your life are we allowing Ebonics to be taught in our schools. 'They (African Americans) should learn to speak English,' was the responce of the school administrator." I laughed when i read that. Good on them i say. --- Kev

Well the Black population is about 12%? down in the south, and in some urban school communities it approaches practically 100%. So this ebonics thing does pop up quite a bit down there. Has been popping up for about 15 years now.

There are a whole bunch of differences between the alleged TD here and the alleged TD at B.C. Place. Be that as it may, the issue is still one of a racist comment and don't tell me that if a ref would've made the comment to Casey Printers you wouldn't be all over it.
