With all the recent e-transfer chat in the lounge and on Twitter I'm starting to wonder if I should implement it as well. I make reference to "reputable local lady" as I know touring ladies have their own rules about deposits.

Why not? The worst that can happen is nobody sends any.

For touring ladies I trust e transfer is fine, basically to reserve a spot in the queue.
I don't see the point for local ladies where window of availability is not a concern

True, but what is a concern is no shows and last minute cancellations. Also outcalls to non-hotels is an issue for me personally. I'd like to be able to get at least the taxi fee in advance

I voted "other" because there wasn't a category for what I wanted which was " Would you e-transfer money to a lady that you had seen and felt you could trust."
I knew I forgot something.

Same here.

I've done it in the past when I wanted to extend but was short of cash. Cash is king preferred though.

Same, I would consider sending it to somebody I know. Never was in a situation I'd find it worthwhile so far.

When engaging in an activity that is illegal or frowned upon, leaving a paper trail voluntarily is far from the obvious choice.

The fake bookings and no shows is way worse than guys realise.
The guys who are decent and responsible assume most other guys are like them.
But there are many who think it is a good strategy to book with more than one lady at a time in case you need a backup plan. Long ago guys talked openly about this on the board. Example: guys goes to incall, doesn't like lady, goes to other incall.
Other guys do it deliberately to women they don't like, and there are rivals and pimps who do it to make others' lives difficult.

Paper trail is no big deal for me, I don't answer to anyone for my spending.

Yup, because that paper trail literally lasts a lifetime.

If you know the lady, she shouldn't require a deposit. If you don't know the lady, why should you trust her?

My only regret about collecting deposits is I wish I would have started asking for them from new guys a long time ago. It’s aggravating when you turn down reliable past clients because a moronic flake already took the spot.

And that makes sense to me since you are dealing with BDSM clients and they are known to be flakey.

I am so with Miss Hunter on thsi one , ,

Your'e a new frist time client longer appt time = deposit
Your'e late for appt next appt you book = deposit
You cancel an appointment same day , next appt you book = deposit
see the pattern , here pretty much you want my time =deposit
This is what I'm thinking of implementing.

I get it when I read a deposit is necessary when a visiting SP is coming to town. Guys for whatever reason bail on SP's. It's all SP's too, not just the visiting ones.

I have on occasion booked two SP because choice number one had a long track record of bailing on me and others. Seems every time I had organized a backup plan I used the back up plan.

So it works both ways I suppose. Guys flake on SP's for the reasons you noted and sometimes the SP's just are not feeling like working on that particular day.

If your car needed service and upon making an appointment with a dealership, you were advised they require a deposit in case you're late or don't show . . . would you pay a deposit, or say "fuck this" and just move on to the next dealership?

SPs may be able to cut their no show rate by charging a deposit, but a lot of good, well heeled potential clients who are smart enough to know a paper trail of their hobby is insane, are just going to say "fuck this" and move on to the next SP.

And there are a lot more SPs than car dealerships.

Ultimately, you have to ask yourself how much you want to be with that specific SP.

I’m not sure if I would etransfer an SP that wasn’t on this site but I have no problem etransfering a few women I’ve seen regularly. I typically use a separate account that I put $ into once every pay day.
To me it’s easier, since I like longer dates, so I’m not packing a stack of $ & I typically pay most of it prior to the date & clear up the small difference in cash upon arrival.
But every one has their own opinions for paying that makes them comfortable.
Cheers

If she is reputable then I prefer e-transfer. The amount is usually not worth worrying about and I don't have to go through the transaction process

I voted for "other" because ...

I would never e-Transfer for prebooking deposit even to well known SPs or to pay for my initial visit.
However I had used this option to pay for a shortage (where I thought I had enough but mis counted) or to add on services or to extend my time.

If an SP feels that she needs to get deposits from new clients or even slightly flakey return clients when booking then all the power to her, but personally there is no way that I would be okay sending an e-transfer. I'm the type of person that hates the idea of missing any type of appointment so if I've taken the time to book with a lady I'm sure as hell going to be there when I'm supposed to be. That being said I get that not a lot of people think this way nowadays and it seems more and more guys don't seem to be valuing a ladies time as much as they should be. Ultimately an SP is a business person and the way they choose to operate their business is up to them, if I don't like it then I move on to a different SP.

I am very similar to you in my thinking and in my actions- I take my commitments seriously.
And this is a cash activity for me- always.

....... (usually the wifey want you for something)
Wives, GFs and SOs are probably the #1 reason why most aren't onboard with using e-transfer or other methods that will leave a paper trail.
I make all efforts to be a man of my word, and typically I too need to move things around and schedule work activity that ultimately affects my clients and workers to even make a connection happen- but if something serious comes up to make me abandon an appointment with an SP I hope she understands. I will give her as much notice as possible. If I get blocked from further booking then so be it- that is her prerogative.
As noted earlier by BBB- to me cash is king. And I can't see a circumstance where an e-transfer makes sense for me.
