During the pandemic, I've been doing a lot of hard, hands-on research at chaturbate.

I've decided that I really want to visit Colombia.

Has anyone been?
I was there in 2016 and loved it. I went to Cartagena, Medellin, Bogotá and Villa de Leyva. I liked them all but Cartagena was my favourite and Bogotá my least favourite. If I go back I will check out Santa Marta.

Was in Bogota many years ago for three months, loved it despite being a bit unsafe at the time...kidnappings etc. Food was good in 'Zona Rosa', locals were friendly. A visit to the Salt Cathedral outside Bogota is a must.. Look it up.

Last time I counted I had set foot on 76 countries. Mind you, a bit of cheating involved: USA, Puerto Rico, Hawaii and Alaska counted as four. As did England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

I have been to Medellin x2 Cartagena Bogota, back to Medellin in Sept, I love it there, I plan on it being my retirement destination. Other places I have been in order, USA, Mexico, Netherlands, Greece, England, China, Thailand, Cambodia, Japan, Thailand 2 more times, I seriously want to go to Antarctica to see the penguins but that is a damm expensive trip.

Serious cheating, Hawaii and Alaska are actual US states:) Your UK trips count as 4, all are seperate countries

I’m pretty traumatized by the way this whole global lock down is creating a mass genocide of impoverished nations. Close to 300 million EXTRA people are facing starvation now because supply chains are reduced, fewer people are donating to charitable organizations, And we are pretty much blocked from physically lending a hand on the ground.
@Lady Companion, For those in developing country they are hit twice. Once with the pandemic and second with the lack of resources. Yes it is hard for us, can t connect, can’t travel, can’t...but for many around the world they can’t eat, can’t have safe drinking water, can’t stay home to be safe, can’t get medical help, can’t...as bad as it is we still have it pretty good.

I recently aspire to become a solo traveler, actually it was last year, the good ol' days before covid lol that being said, I haven't traveled much thus far, but I do have a bucket list of destinations to check off once this pandemic is over. :)

I have been to:
Canada: Montréal, Victoria, Tofino 🇨🇦
The States: NYC 🇺🇲
Hong Kong 🇭🇰
Macau 🇲🇴
Thailand 🇹🇭

The top 6 on my bucket list:
Mexico 🇲🇽
Maldives 🇲🇻
Colombia 🇨🇴
Brazil 🇧🇷
Japan 🇯🇵
Mongolia 🇲🇳

I am a cultural explorer, so I want to travel to experience different cultures. I took Spanish in college and that's why I always wanted to travel to Mexico, and I am planning on moving to Latin America to live for a year or two in the future, just to put my Spanish in use lol

Maldives: this is an island located in South Asia, aside from the unique culture this nation has, I read online that this island is going under water as sea level arises, in the near future the whole country will disappear, that's why I want to go see it before that happens.

Colombia: Probably one of the most well-known Latin countries besides Mexico, at least they're big in the Latin cultural media, so I would like to see it after Mexico.

Brazil: Still in Latin America, but I want to attend the famous Carnival there!

Japan: This country has some very interesting stuff to see, like the vending machines that sell everything? Yea on my cultural exploration list.

Mongolia: If you learn about this country, it is very off the beaten paths, and the locals still largely live in tents on the desert, drink yak milk and stuff. I'd like to experience that too.

Thanks for starting this thread, you got me all excited to be on the road again!

WARNING VERY LONG
Me, 41 countries as a 62-yr-old...props to Electra whose obvious love of travel prompted me to respond...I AM trying to impress her :)
North America :
- Canada, have visited all provinces but alas, not the North ie Nunavut, the Yukon and the Northwest Territories,
- the U S of A ; prob set foot in 25/50 states; fav places are Hawaii (it’s own country imho), all of Vermont and the Big Easy, N’Awlins, Texas is special too

Central/South America:
- Mexico, such a rich cultural place to have so close and accessible to Canada
- Guatemala
- Honduras
- Colombia, I can’t say enough good things about it ie music, women, pride of place, natural beauty
- Ecuador
- Peru
- Chile (last year, cut short by riots)
- Costa Rica

Caribbean:
- St. Maartens
- Guadeloupe
- the Bahamas
- Cuba, I need to go back, such a special place
- Jamaica, like Cuba, so strong an national identity incl food, ganja, music. They have opinions to be listened to.
- Trinidad (sexiest accent ever)
- Haiti, prob my most-envelope-pushing trip but well worth it

Europe incl UK:
- Wales
- Scotland
- England
- Ireland
- France (huge cultural contribution to the world)
- Spain
- Portugal
- Switzerland
- Holland
- East Germany in 1979, crossed Checkpoint Charlie in Berlin
- West Germany
- Czech Republic, Prague is the most beautiful city in the world ie the Old Town

Africa:
- Morocco
- Ethiopia, a treasure of culture and history, jazz music too
- Uganda, was so lucky to visit just before Covid hit. Mind-blowing if you haven’t explored sub-Saharan Africa, I loved it,

Asia:
- Thailand
- Laos
- Cambodia, totally agree with Electra’s take
- Indonesia incl Bali which is a separate thing imo
- Vietnam, Hanoi being one of my fav cities
- Japan, would revisit in a heartbeat
- Hong Kong, so dynamic, fuck the CCP

When travel becomes possible again I will rebook Argentina and book Taiwan and Sri Lanka asap.

Canada is actually my least favourite place on earth. I am just Covid trapped, not thrilled to be here. Come summer or fall I will leave again. Of course, it is home so I will always come back to visit my loved ones and see my clients/friends.
@ElectraXXX thanks for your honesty. I know there are many other places in this world that are beautiful, both in creation as well as people. In times like this reveals how much of a privilege we have enjoyed to travel, see and discover. I look forward when it returns.

No but definitely on my bucket list. Suggest reading Wade Davis' new book Magdalena, River of Dreams as a great primer before you go. If you can't already, aprende un poco espanol ( learn a little Spanish) before you go as it will go over very well with the locals if you do.

I am really missing travel. I have done all of Canada and practically all of the usa. Maui is my Favorite. Backpacking through Europe took 3 months. Started in France ended up in Turkey. Spain Italy and Greek islands my favorite. Mexico was fun and scary. Jamiaca Negril was probably my most disappointing trip.

Looking forward for the 7th continet- Antarctica....
Unfortuneately after you travel too much, you get the feeling that people don't like you walking around their backyard....
Just like every country around the world that hate American travellers, they will get sick of people showing off their wealth and priveledge over them... And the western world and the top G8 countries have sold them enought rifles and bullets to make your vacay really unpleasant....
You really need to go to the off road places, and see the poor and starving people, not the touristy places.... They fucken hate vistitors....
Maybe you could go and see the slave pits (imported labour from India and Pakistan) of UAE, yup thats how all those highrises were built, on very fucken cheap labour....

Only 4 countries..but I travelled almost continuously for 2 yrs culminating in 6 weeks on the Hawaiian islands, my favorite place to be. While I travelled alone, I met 2 beautiful non SP's online who spent a few weeks with me then met an SP in Maui who I spent a ton of time (free and paid) with for 2 weeks. Was the best of times and a great way to finish my travelling spree!
