D is like an incessant trickle of water, eventually it will wear down even the toughest of stone. Most of the long time posters here were frequent posters on Bigdog but grew weary of D.

I visited Bigdoggie site and saw some of the "D" dude's postings. Should I be afraid???? I am a pretty tough gurl.... bring him on...

reading some of D's threads on Bigdoggie leaves me feeling a bit numb... I would rather have enlightening discussions and sharing of info than contests of wit and pseudointellectual debates. Hi Lynne welcome, I'm new here too. I read thru the board extensively before I joined to see if anything interested me. Lots of interesting topics going on but some of it is just plain bashing,
I am all for healthy sexuality and occupational risk reduction after all who wants to die an untimely death? However, you should know that many people both SP's and clients are not interested in safe sex unfortunately forcing a lot of SP's to advertise they do without protection, a quick way to spread diseases, of which we have a lot especially here in van. Hopefully some of your points will transcend here. Good Luck!

its strange how two Cities... Edmonton and Vancouver... can be so far apart. Vancouver SPs not only advertise Incall... but they offer incall at a price cheaper than outcall. Edmonton SPs won't offer incall at all because they know they can have their licences revoked in a heartbeat. Vancouver has only one licenced massage parlor that is very specifically a licence (wink wink) that acknowledges, in a vague sort of way, that sex is for sale. At a cost of over $8000. Edmonton has 40+ massage parlors that (wink wink) everyone know are brothels, at a cost of a mere $60 per establishment. On the other hand, escort agencies in Vancouver pay $800 or so dollars, while the Edmonton counterparts pay $4000. Yet the Edmonton licence is far more restrictive. And on it goes.

the reason, I believe, that Vancouver may see more SPs and MPs offering unsafe sex is in the numbers.... there are far more providers in places like Vancouver, Montreal and Toronto per capita than in places like Edmonton (what? doesn't anyone like the cold weather up here - lol?).

Anyway, Lynne, I've been mulling over an idea... and I'll catch up to you in a few days with details.

I wish I could say I was surprised about the upsell for unsafe sex... damn. Condom fatigue has struck many people in all walks and age groups, most believing the coctail is the cure-all for HIV and unaware about the sharp rise in syphyllis in many places, including Edmonton. There are 15 confirmed cases in E-town. All of the infected are men with less than half stating thier orientation as homosexual. That leaves me scratching my head about the lack of women yet diagnosed??? If they didn't have sex with the gay dudes then where did they get it.... That with the fact that most STI's don't rear their ugly heads in 70% of women and 50% of men so folks don't even know they have an infection and give it, with a big bow on it, to all their dates....

But hell, that's why there are chicks like me cumming along (oops did I say that out loud) to talk about it... but ultimately choice is ones greatest gift and sadest downfall simultaneously...

this thread probably got a little complicated...but basically, Lynne wants to educate pretty much anyone in the ways of safe sex (and consequenty give a discounted rate on condoms for those who are interested). And as far as venues... Lynne is out of Edmonton - but I'm sure when she gets back in a couple of weeks (from holidays) she can suggest a Vancouver counterpart.
