Do Service Providers Now Rule the Board?

1) A Provider can get by with sending an unsolicited, vulgar PM to a male board member. If such was done by a male board member he would most likely be banned for life.

2) A Provider can request and usually succeed in getting a thread deleted even if the provider herself is the one who initiates the unpleasant exchange by challenging a post.

3) Providers are the ones who generate income through advertising so Fred Zed and the mods are often choosing to give the providers more than just the benefit of the doubt concerning disputes and requests.

4) Some providers appear to be prima donnas within the constricted little world of PERB. They are often accompanied by their puerile armies of ass kissing yes men when anyone dares to challenge or constructively criticize a provider's service or her position on an issue being posted.

I use to think SP could not get banned and rule this site. But ya i've seen a couple of sp who where banned for various reasons also. The mods here have a tough job and try to do the right thing.

I did not say or imply that service providers are not subject to bans. There are indeed some glaring cases where certain providers are targeted. If a service provider does not pay for her advertising on time, or if she is labeled (regardless of the accuracy) as a board troublemaker, then she can become a prime candidate for banning.

Most are banned for unpaid advertising.

As for the rest, it is the golden rule, those with the gold make the rules. Just like paid advertisers get to object to content on sponsored TV programs, they do it here to. It sucks, it isn't right, it is driving this board to just be reviews of low end CL advertisers because that is the only contact info that can be posted, but it is the way of the world.

Having not been around PERB long I obviously can't comment on a 'couple of years ago' but it would seem to me that there is some secret stupidly long DNR list including MANY Vancouver providers not needing/wanting new reviews (which is of course their prerogative)

BUT

Truly, what is the good of a review board such as this if you can't review half the women who work in this city and advertise on this board? Hence the influx of CL reviews I would assume (as Ted mentioned). Personally, I have never been brave enough to TOFTT and go the CL route in any city I've lived in and have usually relied on review boards and local agencies to help make up my mind. In answer to the original question, is this board generally run by the SP's? I would have to say that's an absolute and resounding YES.

And are some of the general PERB population foolish sycophants driven by low self esteem who feel the need to run around after the SP's sweeping up messes and crawling up their collective asses?

And they wouldn't have the ability to get reviews deleted, and they'd actually get banned for creating second accounts and posting fake reviews of themselves...

We have tools that advise us when duplicate id's are being used. When we identify a "second account" or duplicate IP's, typically, the user is faced with a lifetime ban. We also take a very dim view upon shilliing (M-1)

As wolverine mentioned, the SP's NOT being here wouldn't change anything for us (other than for the sycophants, of which there are MANY). It would simply mean we could get on with the job of being the client/reviewer instead of having to mind our P's and Q's whilst trying to keep the resident pre menstrual females happy. As most of us do that at home already dear, I can't imagine why we continue doing it here

As to the rest of your post, I agree with the point being made, though I probably would have phrased it differently. Maybe the Board should go to a pay per review system, a couple bucks a throw, that way if the SP's threaten to pull their advertising the Fred, still makes money from the reviewers, and the threats won't carry the wieght they probably do now.
