Has anyone locked in with these guys? Seems to be a lot like fixed vs variable mortgages & it's my understanding variable wins out in the long run. Furthermore, i don't like the sketchy sales methods..commissioned salesmen knocking on my door, telling me i'm the only one on the block not signed up (then i see them at my neighbours' doors), stating i'm paying way more than everyone else, asking to see my gas bill & then when i question them, they read directly off the company pamphlet. Fyi, $100 to get out a contract with them.

Nope

They are a bunch of time wasters. I hate bull-shitting sales people who pitch a bunch of half-truth crap. If you're trying to sell something to me, I want you to be upfront and direct. From my experience, the "we can save you money" sales pitch always means crappy service afterwards.

Over 2 hands plus a mouthful big
Been thru the BS of these guys but did sign up with Enmax.

Difference? Enmax had a no questions asked cancellation policy whereas Direct Energy wanted a pound of flesh and a kidney.

Some links that may help

FYI

The OP was probably intended to solicit info and opinions of individuals here on PERB who have recently signed up for gas sales but some people new to the issue may find some of the info about natural gas marketing offered through the following links helpful:

Business Practices & Consumer Protection Authority of British Columbia has this page “Natural Gas Marketing is Coming to Your Door” with general info and contact numbers

http://www.bpcpa.ca/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=270&Itemid=5

British Columbia Utilities Commission – Note links for Rules for Natural Gas Marketers, Code of Conduct and Residential links near top of page.

http://www.bcuc.com/NaturalGasMarketers.aspx

Terasen Gas’s page on natural gas marketers with summaries of their offers, etc. The List of questions to ask gas marketers at the bottom of the page may be helpful to those who have yet to meet a salesperson at the door.

A Direct Energy guy approached me in my driveway as I was coming home.

He told me that Direct Energy is working in conjunction with Tereasn. Sounds like he was out-right lying. He then expected me to go into the house and get my gas bill to show him what I am paying.

I gave him my business card and offered to meet with him to formally, at my office, discuss this. The coward never followed up.

I have no issue with salesman as it part of the free market economy. I just don't like the "attitiude" and the condescending approach these guys take.

Direct Energy should be embarrassed to have guys like these representing them.
