They're an endangered species??? You have to be kidding. They are a top predator and they're overpopulating Florida and South East Asia. If anything, I'd like to see their populations wiped out by 2/3.

I purchased one several years ago from a crocodile farm in Thailand. I paid about $400 at the time.

The Florida species are alligators and not crocodiles. Not sure about the ones in SE Asia

Crocodiles are the larger ones with shorter snouts. Alligators are smaller and have longer snouts.

They do look similar

The Asian ones are crocodiles, there are dozens of farms in Thailand. Some are as small as a few hundred and a couple have over 100k head.

Florida, Louisiana have both crocodiles and alligators. The crocs were almost hunted to extinction but their numbers are back in a way that allows a hunting season.
