Condolences to South Korea

My sympathies to all those and their families who were killed and injured in the Halloween party crush in the Itaewon district of Seoul, South Korea.

I visited Itaewon off and on 10 years ago and I am sure that some foreigners were also killed and injured in the disaster.

Why do people want to pile in to an obviously dangerous crowd situation?
This situation gives me the creeps, being slowly suffocated to death because idiots behind you keep pushing forward.

Hmmm am I missing something? So groups of crowds comes from either end of the alley, collides in the middle and got crushed to death??? 🤯

Covid lockdowns made people want to go out and party. There was also a protest and not enough police presence to handle the crowds. Imagine 100,000 people crammed into few blocks.

Similar occurrence could take place in Venice with the ultra narrow path ways during Carnival time. I have been in a situation where I was literally carried for around 20 feet without my feet touching the ground. This is no small wonder as I weigh around 180lbs.

I just saw a montage clip on tiktok and it was harrowing. One guy climbed up like a freerunner. Crowds were literally jammed and people were stuck to the sides of buildings like zombies in a horror movie. Rows of body bags, it really puts things into perspective the randomness of life.
