computer virus warning

Any system or os can be hacked.

MAC's are not bulletproof, just IMHO not that big a giant in the industry. Microsoft has traditionally been targeted because of how Bill Gates screwed another os programmer out of the original DOS os system and became a multi-national monster in computer os's. Some hackers feel that if Bill Gates wants to charge so much for the os and microsoft software then he should make glitch free and hacker impervious code.

I use WordPerfect over Microsoft Office and never had any hacker crap attack WordPerfect Office even though it still runs on a PC and Microsoft os.

The other thing too is would it not make sense to figure out a weakness in an os and send out your malicious code targeting os's that are in the majority of households and businesses? A similar analogy like catching fish, it's easier to try to catch common abundant bottomfish than it is to catch rare mid water fish.

You have been lucky that the MAC is just insignificant in the broad market perspective. I have seen a colleagues MAC lock up and crash while doing common operations so the MAC is not bulletproof, just not the common target.

I just put this warning out 'cause many do not know the hidden threats of 24/7 internet access, peer to peer file sharing, and malicious code in things like Java script, Active X, etc.

Just 'cause your AVG and firewall says nothing is happening may not be proof of anything.
