It all comes down to Gretzky picking the team he did - leaving off up and comers and going with neanderthal slugs like Fraud Shituzzi. Not sure if plus minus is listed anywhere, and I didn't see the Finnish game, but I saw on the highlights Bert was on the ice for the second goal. Bigger ice needs speedier players and maybe smaller players. They will probably come back and win a few, but I'm not sure this team has the right make-up for gold. Gotta admire Sakic, though.

Gumbel just this morning had this to say about Canada and loosing two in a row:
"If it's true that Canada has the best hockey players (team) in the world then why is it they can't win at these Olympic games? The reason is they too understand that these games do not represent what sports are all about: namely betting."
He goes onto to say that he has a source in Vegas that told him the reason Canada has lost the last two games is not their skill level but instead the pressure from Gretzky to throw the game. "Janet Gretzky the well known wife of Wayne Gretzky, manager of the Canadian men's hockey team, has placed some very large bets on both the Swiss and Fin games".
Wayne Gretzky when asked to comment on Gumbel's report said: "Is he the fat Gumbel on the retarted Gumbel?

They are up against teams that, to steal someone elses words, have players that would love to have the autographs of alot of the players they are up against (and defeating).
The pro players are there because they were chosen, not because they earned the spot. I say send the pros packing and get back to an Olympic team. A team that has to work to get there, I think this will lead to much more entertaining hockey.
It sounds cheesy, but I would rather watch a bunch of amateurs bust there asses and lose, than watch a bunch of guys not give a shit about the game. Play hockey for the love of the game not because you are a top NHL player. May sound naive but it is my humble opinion.
P.S. I shut the Finland game off after 10 minutes, I couldn't stand to watch the lack of effort any longer.

Sorry LAG, I have to disagree. I believe the team is lacking heart. We take a whole bunch of overpaid NHL superstars throw them on the same team and expect them to play well together. Egos get in the way.LittleAsianGuy said:
