It's cheesy, but it makes one fundamental point.

The Great Crash of 2008 is on a scale that is unlike anything we have ever seen before, creating conditions and patterns we have never seen before.

Seeking solace in past recessionary patterns is unwise, this is new fresh ground. Not a doom and gloom prophet call... just be aware this is very different from anything that has come before.

As I said last year... we have suffered a deep economic earthquake whose ramifications are still not yet fully understood (and won't be for 10- 20 years).

Yet they say that nobody has studied the great depression more then fed chairman Ben Bernanke. I dont get it either.

For decades the actions taken after the Great Crash of '29 were vilified as creating/prolonging the Great Depression.

The conclusion: they should have thrown money at the problem and everything would have been fine.

That 'theory' is now getting a chance to be tested. And the early results are leading to a rehabilitation on the viewpoint of the actions taken in 1929.
