HoHos quick Asian downtown on Davie between Bute and Jervis.... Huge portions... $10 worth of food lasts me like 3 days... And it's good if you like Americanized Chinese.... My favorite is there wonton soup.... So good.... $5.25, 10 wontons, BBQ pork, broccoli.... It's so big I have to share with my dog lol but it's definitely a go-to favorite ... I have it about twice a week...
I just moved into the hood, gotta try it...thanks for the heads-up!

Steak sandwich for $3.50, nice fresh bun with a real steak inside, lettuce, tomato, etc. Always delicious, and an unbelievable deal.

This is at Duffin's Donuts on Knight and 41st. Never mind the name, they also sell lots of other cooked food and chinese food too. It's run by a Cambodian family. By the way, their donuts are better than Timmy's.
Great place! Donuts are awesome!!! I recommend getting your food to go...place needs a serious cleaning...

Everyone always tells me to go to Surrey, they say the cheap food is their, I also hear Crystal Mall food court has low prices.

To be honest the only cheap eat I indulge in is poutine (say it right!) or maybe a cream puff from Anna's Bakery.

That's my school!! I eat there 4 days/week!! Maybe we'll bump into each other one day ...
The cafeteria in the downtown campus of Vancouver Community College. They provide culinary training, and the cafeteria serves the food prepared by the students.

It's usually pretty good, and very affordable.

Last time I was there (a few months ago) the Chinese food counter was closed down indefinitely. Has anyone been there lately to confirm? I didn't think their food was hit and miss...either that, or I always got the same items, and was cool with what I was getting for the money!

according to Asian standards, the Richmond Night Market Chinese food is actually quite expensive. lots of mom and pop chinese restaurants, especially in Richmond and Chinatown have better prices.

I had a big decision to make today...HoHo's or Red Burrito? I thought about this thread, and a) the yummy Chinese food suggestion, portion sizes, etc. vs. b) fresh lettuce and cilantro, beans, rice, corn and tomato salsa, sour cream, with roasted chicken and guac in a bowl.

You guessed it, I went for b)...maybe next time, HoHo's!

You know those rumors about how they breed genetically mutated chickens with multiple legs?? Do you guys think that's true?!?!?
I'm sure I sound silly right now, but I've kind of always wondered....

Just want to say two things.
One, KFC buys chicken by the pound and sells it by the piece!!!
Two, they are now breeding chickens to mature faster and less weight than previous!!
Just a little in site for y'all.

Is it?? Me leaving downtown is like an expedition to Africa! I've only been once or twice.... so I suppose my frame of price reference is poor... Thanks for enlightening me! Do you have a favorite?

FanClub on Granville has $3.99 food everyday during Happy Hour. It's pretty good, and their patio is amazing! Great for making the very most out of our last few beautiful days for a while....
The Saturday jam there is good but the food sucks. Then again, I don't eat cheap.

Yes, you're right.... Cheap is what it is. I favor Glowbal Group myself, but if your only requirement is "cheap food specials..." It holds its own! Lol
