Carman fox is rasing the rate!

Ya I just saw that and was going to post. I know it's only $5, but personally I think it's a crock of shit that carmen is trying to pass it off as a necessity due to increased costs and financial factors. Considering she takes $120 from each call and her cost of doing business is so low I don't think she is missing any meals. She should just be honest and say the HST has been eating into her healthy profit margins and rather then absorb it she's passing the expense onto the customer. No coincidence that it's happening now when competition is as low as it's ever been with CL being taken down fragmenting the market into small pockets on the net and the other places such as ishq and kitten club being shut down thanks to the wonderful LE. Hope they have a nice stack of 5's and 10's to make change since the bank machine only gives 20's. Going to be a pain.
Which leads to the other change. Apparently LE is eyeing the Fox Den, at least that is what they are saying there as the cops made a visit and now there is a new policy that all clients when paying the front desk girl have to flash some form of i.d. Not a huge issue as they don't physically take it from you and look at it, you just pull it out and flash it. But still a minor annoyance and maybe a bit scary for those wanting super privacy.

i was just going to reply the same as the post above. very smart move on their end, because would you nickel and dime for the 15 back? not likely, so you will end up likely paying 20 as an extra. and just to reply to some above, if 5 aint that big a deal, then why even charge it to begin with? i mean come on is that really going to make a huge diference to her earnings? they really are just going after that 20 and hope you dont ask for the change. personally if that were me, id bring the 5 in nickels and dimes, literally!
We all pay in 20s since that is what ATMs spit out. They do that here in Edmonton also, girls used to have rates that were even numbers, then it changed to being 250 for basic FS. Lots of girls do odd number game, however being at x05 vs x10 just feels slimy.
So if I read this right, Carman has raised her rates $5.

If you are not prepared with the proper ammount at the time you see any SP, then you should consider any change you expect back to be the ignorance fee.
Please have the EXACT amount ready at the beginning of the appointment. Sound familiar to anybody???
And if you think the $5 increase is too much, or out of line, take your business elsewhere.

my issue is not paying for 5 dollars more man. yeah i could go buy a pack of gum, hell i carry 100 in my pocket i sure damn can afford a lotta gum ok. my issue (not a big issue ok, lets keep things in check here) is that she really is going for the 20 but advertising 5. it is a trick of sorts, and a good one. they know full well the gents here bring in 20's 50's and 100's. so to ask for a 5 is messing things up. hell if they raised the rates 20, i would still go, and i wouldnt have a problem with it. like i said before, does 5 really make a difference? 20, now we are talking some change that add up pretty quick. would you only stick your dick in 1/4 of the way in? no. so just charge the 20 and quit beating around the bush.
I don't think there is anything genius about a guy who knows the rates before arrival, and still fails to have correct change. I just don't think it is that big a deal considering that she simply could have raised rates 20 bucks across the board and blamed the HST. She didn't directly blame the HsT, but you have to know that like every other business out there, it has affected all of the dens expenses from utilities to advertising, and for almost a year they have absorbed all of that, plus did not add it to the final bill so absorbed an increase share to the goverments collecting it. I would think her extra costs and deductions work out to more than 5 bucks, but she has found a figure that is reasonable to share the costs.
And yes, if 5 bucks means that much to you, then you need to quit the hobby lol. And if 15 bucks means that much to you, you need to have the correct amount. If you go to the den, I have a feeling they are going to be able to provide change, since you pay at the front desk don't you?
This really puzzles me, several points:
- HST is a tax on customer not the business! So passing it off to customer is what she should be doing.
- There is a thing called inflation. Apparently they have been charging 300$ since 2004 now if you use Bank of Canada's inflation calculator then you get: 300$ (2004) = 334.44 (2010).
- Finally given the inflation number and the competition being so low why such a small raise? 5$ is a just 1.67% increase. It would be like your coffeeshop hiking the price of a cup of coffee from 1.99$ to 2.02$.
