I don't think you can merely flick a switch and a whole new attitude shows up on the ice. Maybe at a professional level they can do it but definitely not at a Junior level.

At this time of year, the Canucks should be honing their play in their own end, neutral zone (ensuring control of the puck and not just dumping it out) and pressing the other team hard with their forecheck. I didn't see a lot of that last night. In fact for much of the game the CBJ's were pressing hard in the Canucks zone. CBJ is in 30th place after all.

LA is in 9th with a 7 - 3 - 0 record over the past ten. Only teams with a better record are St Louis and Dallas who are both 7 - 2 - 1 in the past ten. I could see the Kings making it and possibly giving St Louis a run for the money in the first round. We may end up with either Chicago or San Jose again this year.

No matter how you toss it the Canucks need to crank it up a couple of notches to prove they can dominate at all ends of the rink.

My prediction. Luongo shits the bed in the first two games of the first series and they ride Schneids for the duration of their playoff run.

Right - and the Canucks proved they were unable to meet the test last year, and are probably weaker this year, so where do you see their chances improving?

Raymond is a disaster, Sedins are weaker, Luongo is Luongo, Schneider is unproven and was ventilated by Columbus, Bieksa is a disaster, Gragnani is ordinary, Edler is MIA, Kassian is a non-factor, Malhotra is gone, Ballard is gone, Kesler has never been a team player, Burrows is erratic, etc etc.

On a positive note, Edler's Bobby Orr style going end to end goal last night was pretty to watch :D

So, with all your talk and analysis...............how far do you see the Nucks going? I see them going into the 3 rd round. Thats my call and If I'm wrong.....I'll be a man and admit that I was wrong and that they lost before round 3.

Will you ? Sounds like your saying they wont make it past round 1.
I'd be surprised if they go past two rounds.

Last year when everyone had the parade route planned and you all mocked me, I was right, too.

You are seriously going to take credit for that? You were one game away from being utterly and completely wrong. Besides, it's always easier to predict a team not winning a championship than it is to predict the opposite even from a statistical sense, any high school math student can tell you that...

Not in last year's case, don't remember the odds, but I'm pretty sure the Canucks were heavy favorites in every round of the playoffs.

You need to retake high school math...;) Also check out how many President Cup winners (heavy favorites) have gone on to win the Stanley Cup - exactly 3 in this decade, 2001 Colorado, 2002 and 2008 Detroit. Not exactly overwhelming, is it?

Pretty sure the Heat were favored in last years NBA finals, the Pats favored in their last two SB's against the Giants (one of which was heavily favored), and the Rangers were favored against the Cards in the previous WS.

That's exactly my point, so for Cock Throppled to take the opposite side of the Canucks vs Bruins means he had to take the underdog. I mean, I don't think anyone would be stupid enough to take Boston without some kind of odds.

The way I see it, you have more of a right to brag and make the favorite eat crow if the underdog prevails.

It's HOW the Canucks lost that is sad/embarrassing. Those losses were not close games, they got thoroughly shit kicked. 4-0 game 7 at home!?!

And let's not even mention the complete melt downs in Boston.

Actually he took the opposite side in every series so in the end he was wrong 3 out of 4 times but now he is bragging about how he correctly predicted that the Nucks won't win the cup which is the coward's way to predict anything.

First off - I predicted the Canucks wouldn't win the Stanley Cup, I didn't know anyone's life was on the line. For fuck sakes it's a prediction - in other words a GUESS - which is what anyone's pediction is, including mine. I stuck to my guns they wouldn't win the SC when the rest of you were convinced they would win it and they were ahead in wins in the final round.

I'm not taking credit for anything but the curse I put on them years ago. I don't give a flying fuck when they get knocked out, but they are a weaker team than a year ago, so I expect it sooner than later. If they go out in the first round great, if they last longer it just makes their collapse sweeter, but I'm not going to lose sleep over whatever they do because I don't bet, so other wise who gives a fuck?

Its a common troll tactic......

Here look how good at sports predicting I am.....I predict ALL teams will NOT win the Stanley cup.....
GUess what I am right 97% of the time....take that Vegas.

Even notice how the trolls never pick a team they think will win???? Curious isn't it.
Even famous trolls like that blowjob guy, would wait till the middle of the finals, before his prediction.

What are you guys, ten years old? I have to "cover my calls" or "take credit"? I'm a troll because I hope another team wins it all?

I don't like the Canucks (I have my reasons, they're personal and I don't exactly make it a secret). Rather than predict, let's say I HOPE they crash and burn again, just like you guys HOPE they win it all. I don't have any control over it and neither do any of you unless you play for them.

As for who I HOPE will win - I don't care, but generally I'm an ABC guy - anybody but the Canucks. So get over it. Life isn't fair and I have more chance of anybody but them winning.
