well, hate to say it soccer is boring to the average Canadian. We are used to hockey - fast paced, small playing surface. Soccer is huge with kids and parents because at a base level it is easy for young kids to play (ie they don't need to know how to skate). Once kids hit their teens they are gone from the game - most never to return as players or fans. Soccer has failed in North America in the past and will fail in the future as a huge, regular draw. Let us not forget the '70 and Pele. The league took off for a few years, crowds of 40,000 plus but the sport on the pro level died. Beckham is just the next Pele and the MLS will fade away given enough time. Now, don't get me wrong I am a soccer fan but as someone who has attended a number of matches in the Uk teams like the whitecaps are bush league. I have been wrong before

Soccer is a low score or a no score game. Most thrilling part of soccer(football) is the penalty kicks and the odd streaker dashing on the pitch.
I just hate how the TV cams zoom in on the players hoarking mouthy phlem.
Yeah,all smokers will forget about this sport and encourages kids to be an active ball chasing hoarker.
The World Cup has the most viewers watching after the summer Olympic Games.

I LOLed when during the Euro I watch one guy get charted off on a stretcher because he had a small cut on his head!

It's always a great laugh when 2 guys chasing down the ball and within striking distance to the goal. One guy accidental (falsey) makes contact with the other player so he can be in range for a penatly kick.
A great thing for refs and replays and send off the lousy ass with a yellow follow by a red card.
