Aaaaaaaaaaaargh!!

I listen to the radio at work, and lately Jack FM is playing this crappy song "Bad Day" by Daniel Powter over and over again. I don't know about others, but this song is especially annoying to me. Weak melody and weak lyrics. Gotta love that Canadian Content as imposed by the CRTC!

That Canadian Content crap is what launched the hilarious "Great White North with the MacKenzie Brothers" skits on SCTV. They were so annoyed at being asked to insert something Canadian in the show, so that skit was their response.

Sure but how do you explain the torrent of shit that's assaulted the airwaves over the years from the U.S. and Britain? What about the whole rap genre? What about these fucks and their horrid remakes or sampling of classic rock songs? Canadian content is only part of the problem. There's a serious lack of talent and creativity in today's music scene.

The song started getting airplay here only after it became a number 1 hit in some European countries. It was a song from a Coke commercial played in Europe. The guy hails from Vernon or thereabouts, and so local stations jumped on the bandwagon, mainly because of the BC connection. I agree - the song is basically fluff and will be long forgotten in a year.

There are lots of good Canadian bands that are more deserving of airplay than endless repeats of Tragically Hip and April Wine.

Sonic 102.9 here in E-town has done a great job of showcasing local talent, not to mention playing Canuck bands that are popular but get little airplay in their own country, such as Arcade Fire and Hot Hot Heat. That's because they're an independent station whose playlist is not determined by some corporate boardroom in Toronto.

i get subjected to JACK FM every fucking day! it drives me nuts.

the songs they play are ..............i dont even have the words to describe the crap on all the radio stations these days.

also, CFOX, ZED, and JACK: just because it is Green Day and they used to be good does not mean that you have to play that shitty "Wake Me When September Is Done" song all the fucking time!

i miss 104.9 XFM! Pepper and Crash where hilarious.
