My site is down because my hosting company of 12 years got charged 400 for 13 gigs of usage. Video he says must be new, but infact has been on my site since 2008.

He hosted other sites, magazine to start, then annaliselane.com and ladytaryn.com

I registered my site with go daddy but he's since moved me to some Indian company.

I used 13 gigs of bandwidth in one month and he got charged 400 so in turn took my site down. FUCK !! Yes I repeat myself when I'm frustrated :(

I think they (indian company) looked into it and said, HEY she's a hooker who makes lots of money we can charge her MORE for this usage. Or I'm being sensitive ~sigh~

Help or advice would be appreciated

13GB of usage doesn't cost $400. Either he has been ripped off or he is lying and trying to gouge you.

13 gb is nothing. Nowhere near $400. To put it in perspective, Amazon Cloudfront hosting is 12 CENTS per 1 GB. i advice you ignore them, drop their service, and move to another web host. Hopefully you have a backup of your files.

We are moving to another host but he's got to release passwords and codes to move, otherwise I end up with a new domain :(

I want proof he's getting charged 400 from MY sites bandwidth !! I see him fucking me over a barrel without kissing me first ~sigh~

Are you the current registrant, administrative or technical contact of the domain? If so there are other ways to circumvent the hosting company if they're holding you hostage. All you need to do is change the nameservers with your current registrar (the domain registrar is different than the hosting company)

Ouch! What a mess.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there doesn't appear to be anything fancy in terms of dynamic content and such so you should be able to download your entire site with a simple program. Search for programs to save an entire site to your computer, there will be a good selection of free apps to do this.

The domain will be trickier. Did you ever get a username and password to access the control panel for your domain at the registrar in India? If you did, you may be able to unlock the domain and transfer it out of there back to something like GoDaddy or whomever else you chose to go with. This is assuming their control panel allows you to unlock it. If not, at the very least you can change web hosts to someone else until you're able to get your domain out of there.

It looks like the website itself is actually hosted in Florida at hostdime.com.
If you're lucky, and maybe you can use your feminine charm here, you might find someone who will help you there and figure out if your site really is using the bandwidth the other company is claiming. In fact, if you have your cPanel username and password, it'll tell you right there how much you've used.

Hope you're able to get this all straighten out soon!!
Good luck!
