I'm not sure why, but there seems to be the perception out there that I don't like the Nucks?! Just the last 4-5 seasons, I've been harshly critical of the players, either with too many Europeans or bone-headed mistakes by Bertuzzi.

But I'm more harsher and tougher on the lap dog fans & media here--no need to go there, I've made my valid points.

Here's proof that I do cheer for my home team:

1994. This edition I could relate to, even with a few Europeans sprinkled in; of course Bure & Lumme were major factors in our success.

But these were the players that I could feel for:

1. Ronning
2. Gelinas (need i say more)
3. Brown & Hedican: now we're talking about puck moving defencemen, big shots, fast skaters. and to prove that i'm not all anti-european (ie. Salo), even Brown I thought was a bit soft...i digress, but i take these 2 guys over any 2 friggin' Dmen we have this year!)
4. Greg Adams (again, soft, what's w/ our luck? ;) )
5. Geoff Courtnall

and my fav,
6. Sergio Momesso! this guy would rock w/ the best of them, his heart and soul was unquestionable...

and alas, how could I forget every BW/CH/KN favourite, Linden. Maybe if you guys didn't drool over the guy, maybe I woulda given him a chance, lol. But when you guys make him look like he was a better pick (not that we had a choice) or better player than Modano, well, here's a news flash: who's still playing? ;)

BUT I digress...this whole point of the thread, just to be crystal clear, is that I do want this team to succeed, and those teams of 1994 was somethign to be proud about. I still enjoy watching the games on TV at home or at the bar, go to about 5 games a year but what I can't stand is "the obvious".

So save Trackie from posting that record ;)

If Gillis can bring players like I mentioned above, then we'll talk. But til then, when you sign goofballs like Bernier, Sundin, Demitra, -- total busts--- and Wellwood, well, not bad considering his $$$, but I do realize these are all castoffs that other teams didn't want enough to keep them, at least my expectations aren't on la-la land like the BWs here, so I wasn't expecting much.

Just irks me when the BW/CH think that this team should've made it to the Final Four. It's fantastic they even made the playoffs. I believe one of the polls before the 2008-09 season, was only 33% thought this team was going to make the playoffs. Again, bandwagonese to the fullest!:D

BJH, are you smoking that hallucinating shit again????

You are absolutely wrong ------ when you say that there seems to be a perception out there that you don't like the Nucks.

There IS, at least with me, a conviction that you hate the Nucks. It's hard to draw any other conclusion than that. According to your zillion posts regarding the Nucks, you hate the players, management, scouts, coaches, and most obvious, their fans. I'm sure I left out a few, like their trainers, stick boys, logo, uniforms and office staff, which, by the way, includes a couple of hawt chicks. (No, I don't know if they suck good cock)

Glad to hear you liked them 5 years ago. Wow---- I liked the price of gas, and my ex G.F., 5 years ago,--- but the oil companies keep fucking everybody, and from what I've heard, so is my ex G.F.

Sorry to cut this short BJH, but I see some asshole trying to steel the wheels off my bandwagon sitting in the drive way..

If Gillis brings in players like that what will we talk about, you'll still say he sucks. After all you've posted that Pat Quinn sucked while he was with the Canucks and he was the one who brought every one of those players you listed to the team.

Just to quickly jump in on the likeability of the Canucks. I find it impossible to like a team who's face/captain is an over rated, underperforming, miserable, arrogant, self centred, entitled, over paid, Hummer driving chocking dog.

It also pisses me off when people talk about how he's a lock to be the keeper for 2010 because he's the best and it's in his backyard. the Olympics are in Florida?

While I'm on a rant. Am I the only one who thinks that the Team 1040 is basically an Infomercial for the Canucks? Dave Pratt and Don Taylor are like the Ron Popiel of the sports world. If you have a decent AM radio you can listen to 710 ESPN or KPUG 1170 where the two afternoon guys are farmer/broadcasters who are more intelligent and knowledgable then Pratt and Taylor will ever be. Don't even mention that beer swilling, everyman ignoramus the Moj.

I'll give Quinn credit for those players but since then, what has he done since '94? You think Toronto fans think highly of him?

So let's see what Gillis does in the offseason, hopefully he'll dismantle this team. this team overachieved in the regular season, esp. with Calgary tanking near the end w/ their injuries. This team clearly can't compete w/ the Chicagos, Detroits, & Pens in the playoffs.

Even if it means starting from scratch, and tanking a few seasons to get high draft picks, it sure worked in Pittsburgh, didn't it?

And even w/ idiotic Ron Delorme's scouting inabilities, he may fluke out w/ some high draft picks. ;)

If Toronto fans think poorly of him then they are idiots and aren't being objective. He didn't win a cup, but his record with the team hardly sucked. Seven plus .500 seasons, 6 playoff appearances in 7 seasons, including 5 second round appearances, and 2 third round appearances. He missed the playoffs in his 7th season with the team but a good portion of the blame for that has to be put on John Ferguson's incompetance as a GM.

Tanking so you can get high draft picks is a pretty risky strategy unless you tank at just the right time. Pittsburgh was lucky that they sucked at just the right time. Since Washington took Ovechkin #1, taking Malkin #2 was a no brainer. Then the next year they get another no brainer in Sidney Crosby. Didn't exactly take brilliant scouting to figure out which players to draft those years, I don't think anyone was suprised by Pittsburgh's picks. Not every year has such obvious choices.

this is a superlative post...

cuts right to the chase...

David Pratt and Don Taylor, alias Fatman and Robin, are laughable homers...

I still think Luongo is a good goalie, but he is not a leader, and after game 6 of the Chicago series we found out he is a crybaby...

comes across as thick in most postgame interviews...

Vancouver is a shitty hockey market...

they love their hockey, but they are profoundly stupid...

...

I just wanted to add...

if he could, Luongo would sign with the Red Wings in a heartbeat...

he has no fucking loyalty to Vancouver whatsoever...

he only has personal goals...

if another team affords him a better opportunity of winning the Cup, he is out of here...

at least he cut his greasy hair finally:rolleyes: ...

BJ you're just a narcissistic wanker who seems to think that anyone cares about your opinions and that why you feel the need to hijack god knows how many threads to trash the canucks. I'd be embarassed if I was you but then this thread speaks volumes!

Here is proof that you English comprehension skill is extremely poor. A bandwagon fan is defined as someone who "switches support to whatever team/game/allegiance/belief happens to be successful at the time". Well in 1994, the Canucks went to the Stanley Cup finals. So you like that edition, but not the other ones that either did not make the playoffs or have much success in the playoffs.

Congratulations, in addition to winning the BIGGEST HOCKEY IDIOT award on another thread. You have just proved that you are the biggest bandwagon fan.

For your well being, here is the number for the Vancouver suicide hotline - 1-866-872-0113.;) :D

Wow, you're getting pretty desperate. Just b/c you put 'bandwagon' fan in bigger font, doesn't make you smart ;)

Obviously you don't make any sense, if you think I'm a bandwagon. From Day1, I've been ALWAYS consistent in the slamming of the BW's here in this city, it's so easy; what proof do you have that I jump on and off? I challenge you to find these posts where I think the Canucks are the best thing since sliced bread, or the worst thing when they lose.

I've always maintained that this was an overrated team, thanks to the homer media and BW, CH, etc. like you; yes, even you, though you claim you're a Habs fan, you may even cheer for the Nucks as long as the Habs aren't in town. How loyal.

but doesn't surprise me. You were one of those closet Habs who kept quiet when they missed the playoffs several times, normally sacred ground for them to always be in the playoffs. Bet you shut your trap, didn't ya? And how the Habs have sucked terribly in GM Place I may add ;) Did you run into the closet? lol

Or maybe hid behind a girl's leg? Alas, just a habs fan living in the past...and nothing to cheer for, seeing how they got sacked easily in the 1st round agains the mighty Bruins, how embarrasing in their centennial year. Serves them right when you've got Europeans associated w/ the Mafia, & Price partying it up w/ his new found wealth (that's what my Montreal buddy said).

And you prob. get a hard on now too, just to jump on ANOTHER bandwagon, here, namely w/ Trackie, Argg, etc. to go against me; i just LOVE IT!!!!

Caught your attention, didn't I? LOL

Actually, it was your non posting during the Canucks late season run and playoff run that indicates you were too busy cheering them on. Only when they finally got booted did you decide to start things up again. :p

Of course you can say whatever you want as reasoning, after the fact.;)

Says the "Canucks fan" who disappeared during the playoffs. XD

Didn't you come out of your closet only after the Canucks were eliminated? LOL

Your suspension ended just before the playoffs started, IIRC.

I'm pretty sure you were lurking the entire time until the Canucks were eliminated.

At least you saved some money on your car insurance by switching to Geico ;)
