Bell Express Vu 9200 HD PVR

I've been wanting to get this since it came out, but it was only available with the upgraded dish, which I already have. I'm a bit choked because in late 2003, early 2004, Bell was promoting their new HD PVR which was supposed to come out by April 2004. In order to use it, you needed a larger dish set up to point to their 2nd satellite or some other BS. So I got that, paid about $150 with install and a $60 rebate (which I still haven't been able to use). So finally, almost 1.5 years later, they finally come out with the HD PVR, but only with the dish. I am getting mixed feedback on whether this kit will be available without the dish. I called Bell and they can't (more like won't) tell me anything. I call Future Shop and they said 3 weeks ago that the receiver without dish will be released in 2 weeks... still nothing. Called Visions, said the same thing. Went to a Bell store, they said they don't know.

Anybody have an inside scoop on whether this will come out as a stand alone unit that may be $100 cheaper without the dish?

Does anybody have this setup? Any bugs? Should I just bite the bullet and get the kit WITH THE DISH I already have (hence paying for it TWICE)?

Or should I just say f$ck this BS, buy the receiver at FS, cancel my subscription with Bell, and go pirated? I've never pirated cable or satellite in my life, but with all this BS and having to wait 10-15 min. on the phone, being given the round around, etc... maybe I should consider converting to the dark side...

did you know that bell allows 6 recievers for 1 account. you get 6 guys together and share less than $20 a month. I love to beat the system I haven't paid for tv in 10yrs from the Blackbox days for my bud, bell and dish cards, dtv, and fta I seen it all, the good guys have made the last 6months a rollercoaster ride if you guys plan to jump into the pirate world wait for a couple of months, I haven't lit any boxes up for a couple of months but I see the light to flash boxes again soon I can hook you vancouver boys up when the time is right just wait

Maverick, make a decision and go with it. I was waiting for Futureshop to get the model 5200 dual tuner reciever in for almost 9 months. They kept giving me the BS about next week, next week, a couple of weeks, but it never showed up. I ended up giving up on them. The reason I say make a decision is, the waiting and waiting was so aggravating.

What is FTA?

FTA is free to air...cardless and able to receive the nagra signal...which dishnet bell and many other satellite service providers use.Hold tight with your money for a while as things get ironed out...but it is the future.
