A $100 million hit for an unwanted election in the middle of civic elections.

It might actually be worthwhile if it backfires on Eby, and he's gone.

It takes a special brand of incompetence to run up a $13 BILLION debt, after inheriting a $5 billion surplus. In TWO years!!! Toss in a few ongoing gems like emergency room closures, DRIPA (no consultation there, by-the-way) , non-funding of long-term care beds, mayhem on the streets, more overdose deaths etc etc and we have endured probably the worst premier, and government in the province's history. Trying to blame Trump for all the NDP failures is beyond pathetic.

Well said. I would just add that I have zero faith in the BC urban centre and Island electorate. The progressives are hooked on handouts and special interest causes, that Eby and Co are only too willing to listen to and coddle. He is no business man and it shows in how the NDP govern BC's finances under his regressive leadership.

Calling an election, blaming Trump and trying to cash in on the disarray of the BC Cons is about the most cynical and self-serving moves I have seen in forever. Eby used to have principles, he was the head of the BC Civil Liberties group at one point. Clearly, those principles are history, along with any ethics or integrity he may have had. I sincerely hope it blows up on him, but the other choices are pretty miserable right now.

Look I don’t like Eby, I don’t like the cons, the greens I don’t know enough about but also really don’t care for. I really wish we had a near center party here in BC. I’m a Red Tory (socially progressive but fiscally conservative) and I absolutely love what Carney is doing. If we had anything close to the federal liberals right now I’d be all for voting for them. As it stands now though I’d prefer if this whole thing backfired and we had a very weak minority government after this waste of time and money is over with. Would keep either side from getting anything done which is probably the best ending. Thank god we got a strong independent in my riding.
