Over 2 hands plus a mouthful big
Three baseball fans were on their way to a game when one noticed a foot sticking out of the bushes by the side of the road. They stopped and discovered a nude female dead drunk. Out of respect and propriety, the Cubs fan took off his cap and placed it over her right breast. The Red Sox fan took off his cap and placed it over her left breast. Following their lead, the Yankee fan took off his cap and placed it over her crotch.

The police were called and when the officer arrived, he conducted his inspection. First, he lifted up the Cubs cap, replaced it, and wrote down some notes.

Next, he lifted the Sox cap, replaced it, and wrote down some more notes.

The officer then lifted the Yankees cap, replaced it, then lifted it again, replaced it, lifted it a third time, and replaced it one last time.

The Yankee fan was getting upset and finally asked, "What are you, a pervert or something? Why do you keep lifting and looking, lifting and looking?"

Well," said the officer. "I am simply surprised. Normally when I look under a Yankees hat, I find an asshole."

Hey Manhattan,

I don't really like the Yankees, but 'hate' is a pretty strong word. I do agree with you that they are playing the game the way it should be played and that's why they are successful. But everyone should also note that they haven't won a Series since 2000, so big money does not always make for great team chemistry. But, IMHO baseball should look into a salary cap (George just laughs when he has to pay the "luxury tax") to try to level the playing field a little.

Besides that, most people always snipe at who's on top, hence the adage "heavy is the head that wears the crown". :)

If it really bothers you, follow my lead and root for the Seahawks and Mariners! Trust me, then NO ONE will be envious of the team(s) you root for! :D

No offense, but ...

As I read the joke (and I could be very wrong) the cop isn't talking about players, but fans.

I agree. The luxury tax is a joke. It doesn't work in baseball and it won't work in hockey. The correlation between big team payrolls and the teams that make the baseball playoffs is so obvious. I don't think a salary cap is much of an improvement because they always seem to do it team by team so you still end up with a big gap between top and bottom, although it is a bit narrower. But it's fun to root for the little guy. In 2005 look for the Minnesota Twins to beat the Yankees for the AL championship.

The one thing that does seem to level the playing field is revenue sharing like the NFL. I have heard it said that the players get screwed in this system but I haven't seen anyone starving to death and the NFL seems to be a very healthy league. Even the Seahawks have a shot (they did make the playoffs!!) :D

sigh......

I still don't understand why most people would be so hostile toward the Yankees. Yes! they're rich and they can buy the best baseball players in the world, but what's so wrong about that? This is a professional sport and money is what they play the games for, isn't it? Why are they rich? because they win games and the fans would buy the tickets to support them. The rich they are, the better players they can afford; the better players they have, the better games or more wins they have. I know it's a "vicious circle", but this is a professional game, money is the bottom line.

Oh well, I guess most people are just jealous of them, so they "demonize" the Yankees, aka "the evil empire"....

Don't blame the players, blame the game!

People are hostile towards the Yankees because after a while people get tired of a team's success. That is people who aren't fans of a specific team. For some people it is an affinity for the underdog and for others it is latching on to another team that is on the rise.

Also in the case with the Yankees, the organizatio does cultivate something of a bad-boy image, led of course by their poster boy owner George Steinbrenner (sp?).

No one is saying the Yankees aren't great. The very clearly are one of the greatest teams of pro sports.

And most importantly it was a JOKE! Laugh at it.
