I just spoke to a friend of mine who is a retired escort from Vegas.
She was quite emphatic that one should avoid 'backpages' at all costs. They're almost all scams.
I did a quick scan using 'Tineye.com' using pictures of escorts on that page that I thought were fairly attractive. They're all pictures taken from elsewhere on the internet.

Through perb posts, I've been educated on Vegas pooning scene. Went to Vegas mid September. Called a listing on backpages website to see what would happen. She "assured" me that it was going to be same person as in the picture. 2 different girls (white, hot, and young) showed up at the casino. I told them I wanted the girl in the picture. They offered $500 for the hour for either one of them. I just went for it and told them that the only way this was going to happen was that they take $250 for both of them or walk away with nothing. They took the offer.
Second night at MGM I waited by the bar area for over an hour until I got the smile from a young cute latte black chick. She came over and small talked for couple of minutes. I told her that my girlfriend back home was a provider. She told me that I must have alot of money. Ya, maybe for pooning. She stated that there is alot of competition in Vegas, which was my green light to wheel and deal. She wanted $500. I told her all I had left was $200. She took it.
All 3 girls had great attitudes, not mechanical and not rushed.
Moral of the story, don't pay $500 but counter offer in a respectful tone.
