Well I went to he movies last night to see Rogue one.

Saw a bit of a Christmas party before because I good in the wrong theater. Note : Christmas party looks like other it be good.

But now on to Rogue one.
.
It was different and more intense then any previous Star Wars based film..

I would say it was an old fashion revolution and hero's story..
A lot darker then Stars wars
It could stack up to anybody the old style war movies with anti hero's. The difference it was set in the familiar star wars univers with all the regular aliens and hardware.
In manyways done way better then the the previous movies.

All things were old school when it came to star crusers,x wing fighters, B wings and the rebel fleat. With the regular generals from the first two star wars movies. And even a computer generated Peter Cushing and princess Lea. And the force was present but very little understanding of how to use it in the film. .Any one that knows the force is with them does not have to keep chanting the force is with me ...the force is with me.
Alltogether a nice tie in with everything we know and love about Star Wars.

As for the story ..it did not have to be told .

I saw this movie last night aswell and over all I would just say it was ok... It mainly felt like it was made just to fix a plot hole from the first starwars. The things that draw me to a starwars film are Jedi with lightsabers and the force and that was all very lacking in this film. Darth Vader scene at the end was very cool but way to short in my opinion.

Donnie Yen's character was probably the most interesting rebel. And that droid.

I'm not surprised the Force powers were not very present or at least overt. The setting is one where the jedi are basically all gone, and there's only one sith who shows up (yikes, they should have just sent him all along!).

The film was pretty much what I expected. Knew where the plot was headed in the end. Lots of cameos and shout-outs to the other films.

I havent seen it yet but my favourite old Star Wars movie was the Empire Strikes Back with those cumbersome giant turtles and little velociraptor type war machines so Im looking forward to seeing them again.

There's a Shaolin martial arts monk-type who chants repeatedly, "I am one with the Force. The Force is with me."
Obviously works for him since he seriously kicks butt although he is blind.

Spoiler alert. Skip now to bypass.

All the protagonists in Rogue One don't make it in the end.
