I take exception to that. I think it's more like this:

Gay men have taken the step of bringing their sexual side out of the shadows. They have openly published their sexual nature and now that the big shock of "he's gay" is out there, it's much easier for people to accept that he's out there enjoying himself. Even when gay men are in relationships it's accepted that they may have multiple partners whether their swinging with their partner or not. It's just a MUCH more open lifestyle when it comes to sex.

Take an average heterosexual guy. His sexuality is only accepted if he openly shows himself to be a player and he'd need to be single with multiple "GF's". And for that he may even get a little respect from his male friends.

Take the average guy who's married or in a semi serious relationship. It is in no way acceptable for that guy to be out spouting how horny he is all the time or how often he wants it, or is going to get it.

It has ZERO to do with sex drive, and more do to with opportunity and acceptance to use your sex drive. All guys are horny by nature. We're genetically designed that way.
