I think that Canada, the US and Mexico are drifting apart (figuratively, just in case you thought I was talking plate tectonics). If the next US president is a Democrat, and does, as promised, demand changes in NAFTA, I think NAFTA could just collapse. If that happens, it will hurt a lot of people.
I can't see the Amero happening, because I don't believe that the US would allow Canada or Mexico to have even minimal influence on US monetary policy.
