i have not had a successful long-term relationship in which my partner told their parents what i do and then i met them. *shrug*
on the other hand, my dad (whom I call “Mr Smithereens”) is super supportive and will even chat with parents of workers who aren’t as accepting.
I was secretly cheering for something more along the lines of people are more tolerant than we give them credit for. Sorry that it’s been not the case. That is a challenging introduction for everyone involved.
