The old thread is still in the admin area. Long before my time, but it seems to me that it would create a lot of unnecessary drama and debate, second and third guessing of decisions and back seat driving in general. When it's relevant or necessary, mods can and do mention bans that take place, that would seem enough in my view.
As to the topic at hand, there are plenty of guys who are fans of a particular provider. When that provider asks you to post a glowing review, or post 411 about her so she can jump in with another promotion post, or promote something that she wants to do (like a gangbang), she's asking you to break the rules here. She may well be a paid advertiser, but the reviewer/fan is not and is going to find themselves on the wrong side of a ban if it's something that happens again.
The mistake is the lady asking or requiring her clients to help her advertise. PERB is a place for honest reviews and sharing of information. Paid ads help fund that. Manipulation of the board to aid in advertising using the guys is not something the ladies should be spending time and effort on. Be a wonderful provider, the reviews and the added business they bring will come all by themselves. Planted reviews, shills or posts that are clearly just pumping a lady up don't last long and won't go well for the poster if they continue after the warnings are delivered.
