I'm looking at taking a 10 day or 2 week golf vacation and was wondering if anybody has had the chance to golf in Bermuda, Costa Rica, the Bahamas, Thailand, or the Philippines. Mexico is a consideration, maybe tied in with some fishing in Cabo but I'd prefer something a little more exotic.

Anybody???

Personally I'd avoid Thailand due to the extreme heat & non AC courses...

But, then, i'm from Vancouver...

There is a beautiful course along the coastline in Varadero, Cuba. Designed by a Canuck. It has some history too. The clubhouse used to be the Dupont's vacation mansion (yes, those Duponts). We stayed at the Melia, it's right next door to the course...

...and its free from loud, annoying, self-centered American tourists! :D

Not that I've ever played a course outside of BC, but you should make it a priority to play the insanely beautiful and bountiful courses in the Carolinas (including the reigning king of golf resorts, Pinehurst).

As well, every golfer's must-play essential will always be St. Andrews (might as well do Carnoustie if you've gone all that way).

Can't say as I've been there personally, but a friend of mine raves about Costa Rica. It is a beautiful country, and relatively unspoiled, friendly people, and very nice golf courses.

I have a place in Cabo, and I would highly endorse it for a golf destination.
as said earlier it is big $$ to play but you can cut good deals before christmas or late in the season.
I believe there is 15 tracks down there now and 8 or ten are signiture
cheers

Thanks guys. I'm leaning towards Cabo and Costa Rica as I have zero interest in travelling to the States at this point. Been there, done that, hated it every time. Thanks again.
