I dont think a scale where the first 4 slots are taken up by professional models is all that useful.

If it's generally accepted that that girl is only a 7; "you'd take her home on a slow night but she would never be your first choice," then I feel sorry for women everywhere.

And what did the poor lady who got slot number 4 do to deserve it?

Here's Jerry's take on a similar topic:

mik I LAWLED at that Seinfeld. :D

IMHO this is way too subjective a subject. I don't think there would ever be an agreement on who is what number on a 0 - 10 scale.

One SP's I have saw I thought was very pleasant to look at and would have given her an 8 and then I look at a review and another guy felt she was a marginal 6. Some people think Angelina Jolie is a 9 while others say a 6 (must be the Jennifer Aniston crowd :pound: )

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

number 4? it looks to me like she smoked, drank and ate her youth away... and maybe ate a few pills as well

she might have a doctorate in rocket science, but this is strictly about looks

just sayin' :)

BTW I had this conversation with a SP lately and we wondered out loud what SP reviews of pooners would be like :pound:

Probably many of us would duck and cover and not want to read the intimate details from a SP's perspective.

Pretty much,

My friends were big into those hot or not rating sites back in the 90's. Statistically, after about 1000 votes every woman ends up rated as a 2 (the monsters that got 1 and 2 on this website) 5, 6 or 7.

She's no 7-10 as laid out by this site, but also no worse than the 5 or 6.

Judging by this site I'd say a 1-4 scale is more appropriate
1 = their 1,2
2 = 3 and similar (I actually think she could be more attractive than 5,6 if she lost the weight)
3 = 4,5,6
4 = 7,8,9,10

yeah i prefer a five point scale myself. it forces a guy to think about it a bit more, plus i think you'd get more ratings of 2 and 3. with the 10 point scale, like some of the commenters said, 7 is an average

Yeah, actually I first typed it out as a 5 point scale, but then people gravitate to 3 with 2's and 4's. I find it hard to believe anyone would call a 2, a 3, regardless of personal preference, in a four point scale.

Well you could use a five star system or a letter grade instead of 1 to 5.
Numbers, stars, or letters are all the same really... if theres a middle option average ratings will gravitate there.

Honestly though, as luv to lick says, the number systems are pretty much useless because of personal preference. I never even look at them when reading reviews.

That page is stupid and needlessly cruel. I wish more pooners would try and distance themselves from sexist shit like this, maybe people will stop assuming all johns are a bunch of misogynists.

Alot of the reviews here would like to describe the attractiveness of a lady they have met for other potential clients. It's a pointless gesture for those ladies with multiple pictures, but if there are none, or they are fake, as in your average micro, people would still like a quick and easy way to relay that information.

The number system doesnt work because it is too subjective, and too one dimensional. How about an RGB color coded system?
0 - 255 red for perceived sexyness
0 - 255 blue for perceived cuteness
0 - 255 green for body type, with 0 as obese, 150 as hwp, and 255 as grossly anorexic

For example, I'd give Sexy Melina a pinkish color. While someone like Emmy St. Claire would be more of a light blue.

Totally impossible to objectively compare two people, but that's reality. :p

I'd prefer celebrity comparisons. No ratings necessary.

It would probably help knowing the poster's age. The older we guys get the more lenient our looks scale gets. It's hard for a 25 year pooner to trust the judgement of a 50 year old pooner.

Oh I know, I'm not saying looks shouldn't be reviewed. I was just talking about that site in particular with all the 'circus lady'/ 'put a bag over her head'/ 'don't let your friends see you leave with her' bullshit.

One to 10 scales are pretty easy to define. A 1 is someone you find so repulsive you wouldn't want them for all the whiskey in Ireland. A 5 is average. Anything above 5 is above average with their level of physical attractiveness increasing with the numbers. A 10 is the creme de la creme. I think a scale of five is too vague and doesn't recognize varying degrees of physical attractiveness.

Now when I use such rating systems like this, it only apply it to a woman's physical appearance. intangibles such as intelligence or sense of humour are not factored in. People look like what they look like. being smart or funny or outgoing does makes them more attractive in an overall sense, but the physical side of it remains constant. The degree of that attractiveness as expressed as a number on the rating scale is of course, entirely subjective.

As for Mr. Seinfeld's assessment of the dating pool, I tend to agree, although in my experience, it is usually not the looks that have made me break up with a woman.
