420 Alert: TV show Weeds starts Wed Oct 12 on Showcase

The TV show Weeds has its series premiere on Shaw Vancouver this Wednesday (Oct 12, 2005). It is on Showcase (ch 39) at 10pm for 43 minutes (repeated at 12:43am and 3:26am Thursday morning).

Showcase.ca's description of episode 1 is:

Nancy Botwin lives in a nice suburban home, with two nice suburban kids – unfortunately, her nice suburban husband, Judah, just died, so the only way Nancy can make ends meet is by selling pot to Soccer Dads in her nice suburban neighborhood. This nice suburb just got a whole lot nicer!

The show was produced by Lions Gate Television (of North Vancouver) though it was apparently filmed in LA. So far, 10 episodes have apparently been committed for (and filmed)
