I work in the industry and this was the best report I have seen from 60 Minutes in years. Everything they said is true and as stated, there's actually more that is going wrong but this shed more light on the nefarious acts than anything the industry has seen in decades. The carrier network racked up nearly 15,000 violations and 500 accidents in just two years while hauling freight for major shippers. Yet the carrier insists it is merely a “leasing company,” not a motor carrier, and therefore bears no responsibility for the trucks or drivers operating under its trailers.
