It would be very helpful to find out details such as what ad they were responding to, were they busted on site, etc. If anyone has more info please share.
The line about "vulnerable and transient" made me think they were more looking at street pick-ups. Obviously I could be way wrong.
Why is this article solely focused on the john's? What about the traffickers? Arresting the john's isn't going to make a dent in the trafficking problem. They just pack up and move when the heat is on. I guess as long as they cleaned up Brandon's back yard they've done their job. Now it's Regina's problem.
15 vehicles were seized, which probably means that most of the guys were trying to pick up streetwalkers (or more accurately, policewomen posing as hookers).
But more troubling, it also said that "five arrests targeted online attempts to solicit sexual services". I am speculating that the cops had posted fake ads on Leolist. Yikes!
Not to be an ass but these busts are so common place these days guys should know better. Stick to the few ladies that are known to be real. Never have your car nearby, and never ever street poon. 10 % of the guys that get busted just have shitty luck; the other 90% should have known better.
Not sure about the street walkers angle. Brandon doesn't have a stroll. Ladies are working but there isn't a spot where you can drive by and see someone out working
Unless it is a touring lady, there is absolutely no one in Brandon worth seeing. I suspect they were targeting the customers of girls getting run through by gangs.
This just another PR exercise of going for the low hanging fruit. I'll applaud LE when they go after the pimps hanging out in the rooms across the hall from all of these 20 year olds that are being trafficked in the airport hotels. Or the organizations that are running these girls from China through on this AMP / SOPAM conveyor belt. That would be some fine police work!

My question is. Under what circumstances can they seize your car? If you park up the street andngo to a hotel can they take it? Personally i've seen one of the ladies in town that weekend several times with no hint of anyrhing odd. Kinda have my doubts it was her or her duo partner but i guess anything is possible.
Section 242.2(3) of The HTA, allows a peace officer to seize and impound a vehicle if the driver, while operating a vehicle, commits an offence related to obtaining sexual services or procuring.

Maybe this works but at the point that the police have decided to run your dick through the gravel and make it sting a bit they will be checking for vehicles registered in your name and driving around to look.God forbid but I'm not a lawyer so I'm asking for a lawyer the second the police begin talking. No name, no did I drive here, not talking my way out. Being too embarassed to call a lawyer is stupid they see and hear much worse. I've had lawyers tell me they play deaf dumb and blind if they are arrested until they get a lawyer there.
