but, either way - 14 or 16, I'd vote no. I can't imaging that's the best start into the world of sex. Maybe I'm too old-school.

One would think that Postmedia would have clicked the same link that you did in researching the story. Part of the Daily Mirror story says that BuzzFeed is already saying that it's a publicity stunt.

Ruslan's mum is quoted as saying he is 16 - the age of consent in Russia - but an official database lists him as being 14-years-old.

If he is found to be 14, the prize could be given to somebody else.

The age of consent both in Russia and here is 16, so if he is 16, as the story says, then it would be legal.

But in any case, the prize wasn't to have sex with her, it was to stay with her. Two very different things.
