....and the season approaches. We are all adults, we have doubts, we have questions. Having said that....when was the first time you figured out that Santa was a wee bit of a dream? For me, I would think...and I do have to think on this...I may still get it wrong...it was NOT a defining moment...likely my childhood was lacking. Even though it wasn't and I am respectful of the ones that brought me up....i will say it in the attempt of political correctness. In any event, I will say...hmmm...maybe 8? I am guessing that I was convinced by schoolyard friends...much the same way as I was convinced there was no stork nor a fairy toothprincess. I religiously conducted myself in the hopes of currying favour of each of the above mentioned...not to mention the Easter Bunny...and I have used the same tricks upon my beloved children.
I admire and love their critical thinking. Little else brings me a smile than to hear them express a doubt....and I know I should be supportive of faith....so, as a single father without sole custody but having preferred custody, i defer and say little. I will smile and tell them how much I love them...and how they have the right and obligation to tell me how much I annoy them.
I love this life and the seasonal aspirations it brings,
