Advertising vs. information

I understand the need for the owners of the site to draw income from advertising. The SP's should not be able to advertise for free.

However, there is the problem of not being able to provide any contact info in reviews. This wasn't much of a problem when all the SP's being reviewed were coming from the relatively small and stable pool of MPAs. However, with the large number of CL ads, it can be difficult to find a CL SP based on a description and name only.

Is there some way that we can get accurate contact info without compromising the need of the site owners to derive income from the SPs? I fear that the shills have done us in with this, but if there are some ideas out there, maybe we can make it work...

It works perfectly fine if people follow the rules.
How hard is it to go search CL for the girls name? Or Pm the user if that fails to provide results? Which it only will if she is not posting fresh advertisments.

Also post reviews here, not GD topics.

Not a review. Should be posted in general discussion. Keep the review section clean, just for reviews.

Bumping and posting in non-reviews is just as bad....there's nothing worse than a wannabe moderator that's as useful as Bobo's on a board. ;)
Do you all want this revew section cleaned up or not? since the advertisers cannot advertise in the review section any more, doesnt mean everybody can continue to clutter it up with 411s and gd stuff. you're just making it worse with your own comments. Do you want the review section cleaned up or not?

maybe we can make it work...

Like funnyfunguy says, even though he might be annoying, you can't even post this in the proper section.

How do you think you can make your idea work when you won't post it properly?

Who really gives a shit if this is posted in the wrong area... it will happen. Lets stop hijacking threads and maybe answer the question that was asked instead of jumping on the guy. Maybe let the MODERATORS do that job. If they feel it is in inappropriate area, they can move it.

Quite frankly, searching CL for names is OFTEN not viable because the SPs often use special characters or goofy spacing. Not sure about you, but I certainly don't have any desire to bounce around the 30+ "Come to my web site" spams to find someone that was reviewed from a few days ago.

Regardless of that, if someone posts a review and they are not allowed to post contact info, you can always PM them for the info. That shouldn't be an issue... other than the 30 messages saying "How do I get in touch with SP xxxxx?" the fellow gets in PMs. :p

Because now you have 30+ threads of "did you see this girl" "does anyone know her" or the even better "what do you think about this" or "I think..." "Dear diary..."

instead of ads

it didn't make it easier to find reviews

He answered his own question before he started.

Listing contact info from Cl is advertising.

That's the reason guys jump on stupid rhetorical questions in the first place.

we should allow the ads to return to the review section then.
no... my point is... if this place needs to be moderated by the appropriate people, not us. People will screw up and put messages in wrong area. That happens... and will always happen... instead of us jumping down their throat let the mods deal with it and get on with life. If I see a post that I can offer feedback in, I won't be an ass just because it is in the wrong forum. Hopefully the mod will move it to appropriate forum if someone reports it as being in wrong forum or the moderator deems it wrong. Oh wait... Perb disabled the ability to report a thread... sux for them. :D

send us a link

To Gumby and all members:
Each day we receive multiple messages that include references & links to questionable posts. This is far more effective and generally receives our prompt review if not our attention.
Please continue to forward links to questionable or inappropriate posts or reviews for our consideration.

Anything that directly gives business to an unpaid advertiser isn't allowed. I'm not sure it's good policy, but I don't make the rules.
Question. Doesn’t Fred Zed own this site? If so why is PERB so different compared to TERB on these rules?
