Lol I love the insults. Keep them coming.

Yea they pay for the grociers, uhm everything except for my phone bill and some tutition. I work so I ay the phone bill and some of the tutition. I've never ever eveeeeeerrrrrrrrrrr gotten allowances in my entire life. Not that I complain about that.

Yea people do have arranged marraiges but I'll be damn if my parents set me up with a wife. Straight up NO to that answer.

I'll pick my wife.
I've never said "No" to them when it comes to this sitution or anything else when it comes to work. I've always man'd u and did the work. But in my head it's like "FFS!".

I pay for my own pooning. The pay cheques go towards my Dad.

Dude...you earn $9.50/hr x 2 days/week x 52 weeks/yr div 12 months/year = your cheque is only $659/mth. AND THEN YOU SAID IN THE OTHER THREAD YOU POON AT LEAST ONCE A MONTH.

So you contribute how much to the cause every month???? Maybe $300 - $400/mth???

Guess what...you do get an allowance. You're just too spoiled to know it.
I make like $400-$500 a month tops. I give all my pay cheques to my dad. I've never gotten ANY money weekley/monthly/yearly as an allowance. Not me, my cousins, my sisters. None of us. All my 25 cousins from my mom side never got allowances. It's the same damn situation in all of the house holds in my family/relitives.

You go to school, you follow the rules you do well in school then the parents pay for everything. If you saying that allowance is, paying for school, car(i don't have my own car)cell phone bills etc, yea okay. I have to ask to get money, and it's never easy because theres always a question at the end. Why do you need this much? what are you going to buy?

Go to your parents and thank them for allowing you to stay there, mow their lawn and helping make your life easier.
I've always mowed the lawn and I've never said no I won't do this or that.

Trust me If I wasn't going to uni. it would be a lot different at home.

I would be working full time and I would be paying for a lot of my stuff. East Indian familys vs White family are TOOTAALLLLLLY DIFFERENT. A LOT DIFFERENT. There is no comparision.

Is it just me or do you all fall in love with every (hot) girl you see? I fall in love with SPs, MPs, girls at the mall, bank tellers, insurance agents and so on. Of course, I fall out of love quickly too. But I am wondering if it's normal for a mid 20's guy! I mean, I was like this in highschool, I thought I'd get over this frequent crushes phase by the time I finish high school. Now, I've finished undergrad, grad school and I am about to start PhD and yet I do the same thing!

Why did I post this on this thread? Because spring/summer, I get to see so many girls wearing even sexier dresses and I've like 2 crushes a week from 2 crushes in a month (in winter season)!

I am using the word 'love' very loosely. Crush, infatuation, whatever.

Yes, I am using the word 'love' very loosely. It's interchangeable with lust, crush, infatuation etc. I am trying to orient myself for free-sex but I fall in lust so often that I feel I am not (emotionally) ready for this. I think I need to be dumped or have my heart broken few times before I get oriented for free-sex (as in, one-night-stands). I easily fall-in-love with girl I originally was planning to pursue only for a one-night-stand. Theoretically, I understand the 'game'. But practically, I am too much of an emotional-fool (or sissy?). So, I stick to SPs; and then, good heavens that my budget is limited to few times a month, I fall in love/lust with SPs too! I get over it pretty quickly too -- I fall in lust with someone else the next day. This season is particularly hard because girls are out wearing even sexier clothes, I faint. lol.

I am going to be starting PhD in a computer/geeky subjects. Undergrad and grad were in the same broad subject. I don't want to narrow it down to my area of specialization here.

Yeah, let's get this thread back on track. I enjoy reading about the hard life this kid has.. I can't believe someone has it so tough in our country, you think human rights existed and then you see this travesty of justice. YARD WORK? :D

I remember when I was 16, and had a big date....asked my dad if I could borrow the car.....guess what....that asshole asked me to wash it.
I couldn't believe my ears

It was HIS car. Why should I have to wash it.

We should set up a donation fund or something for Kevin. I can't imagine what he has to go through in order to get money to poon. He's probably barely able to make ends meet. :D

LMAO!! :D

My parents were tyrants too. I had to mow the lawn with one of those old manual propelled rolling blade units....up hill both ways!!! My mom would make me sleep with thistles until all the weeds were pulled, and that was in the winter, thank god I could cover my room and board with snow shovelling. And leaves, OMG don't get me started, if only I could step on the rake and have the sharp side stab me in the head.

After reading all your whining Kevin, all I have to say is that you need to be bitch slapped from your house to school each day until the end of the month. You little PUKE. I don't care what colour your skin is, all I do know is that you are a waste of skin.

Kevin, you joined in Feb 2009 and you already have more posts than me.
I salute!

You can't possibly be the only brown guy on this board. Yet nobody seems to be empathizing with you. I understand you don't want to mow the lawn and I agree it's not the only way to show appreciation for what your parents do for you. I am sure you'll either do something for them when you are all settled or you'd do as much for your own kids and keep the tradition going or both. That said, whining about it as if it's the biggest problem won't really help with anything. I think you have whined enough (of course, my definition of 'enough' may be lot different than yours), you can now stop defending and explaining how 'East Indian' families are so much different from other cultures because regardless of the differences in culture it's easy to recognize when the whining is genuine.
