Add to the fact that great goal tenders can stick-handle the puck, Luongo cannot.

I agree with most of what you say about the Canucks. I disagree with the above. Patrick Roy was a terrible puck handler, often got himself into trouble trying it.

Also, if you take away the BS from BJH, all you are left with is "does she suck good cock".
You obviously don't know your hockey; if puck handling was that crucial, Roy wouldn't have won 3 Cups...so i actually don't knock luongo's stickhandling....being a goaltender at the end of the day, is stopping the puck...esp. at crucial times, like in the playoffs, where Roy showed he's the money goaltender...he must've set a record for OT wins too in the playoffs.

but luongo, judging from the way he lets in soft goals, well, like i said before, but you canuckleheads don't seem to get this, but bobbie luo is a tad overrated in this city, we've been so deprived of any goalies.

Luongo is a top 5 to 7 goalie in the NHL. His career stats are impressive but not amazing. Actually, this year he is average with a Save % 12th in the league as of today.

12 Roberto Luongo VAN 40 1047 .916

No other goal stats are required...save % says it all.

I actually think bang for buck, you can do much much better. Let's not forget this guy is highly paid for what the fuck he is doing. He should be making about 4 million based on his stats.

Please quote the part where anyone said that puck handling was CRUCIAL. It was noted as an area of deficiency in Luongos game if you understand what deficiency means.
O, little Fairy Beller, you really crack me up. What is it that's so difficult to understand? don't take this 'crucial' so literally. as you can read, I'm hoping you can read that is, but understanding may be another issue. I was merely responding to someone pooner's comments about Luongo's/Brodeur stickhandling-- I was just saying it's kinda of overrated considering that Roy did 'not too shabby' in his career w/ inferior skills compared to Brodeur...and they both won a good amount of Stanley Cups, which is all that matters.

for once, i was actually supporting bobbie lou; he sucks at that, but better than you and I, right? so it's all relative.

As for 'watching them for 40 yrs', and me being 38yrs, or 28yrs, well, I've definitely deked you inside out again ;) Is your joc strap hanging still? Not going to tell you my real age, not that it really matters. but thanks for picking up on that.

So it does sound like you have a brain; then why don't you quit being so lovey dovey w/ these Nucks & think this is the greatest team ever? Ok, i'm kidding, otherwise, you'll be claiming that I put words in your mouth.

I'm able to criticize this team b/c there's things on this team that isn't likeable & from a true, operational point of view, how can you if you've got:

1. Pyatt who misses every wide open opportunity in the slot? I can count at least 20 games where he's whiffed at the puck...

2. Wellwood, as your 3rd line centre???

3. Demitra & Salo, injury-prone....

And to save space & nagginess, I won't start about those friggin' meatballs.

I care about my team...they're winning, but I'm not like those bandwagaons who all of sudden are watching them, & now want Vigneault's autograph instead of calling for his head back in Jan durin their 10game losing streak.

In some ways, you're worse than a bandwagon fan, don't worry, I'll start a thread dedicatd to you soon...

No matter what a certain person thinks of the Canucks...if you are a hockey fan you must be enjoying this time of the year. With all the teams fighting for a playoff spot (including the Canucks) every game being played by contending teams is important. Remember the run that Edmonton went on a few years ago, they almost won the Cup with the one of the worst records of any team that qualified. All you need is hot team with a hot goalie to take you a long way.

don't know how this team can be considered hot with Pyatt & Wellwood on this team.

and Bobby Lou's isn't exactly hot, esp. if you're just 'giving your team a chance to win"...sure, guess it could be a 8-5 win, and the Nuckleheads still think Roberto is the great goalie lol

Plenty of teams have shown it doesn't matter really what you do up til the playoffs, so long as you make it in. How's San Jose been doing lately? How about the Flames? Didn't they get blown out by the lowly Leafs? All it takes is an injury in the playoffs or some lucky bounces. And in the end it doesn't matter if the score is 10-9, what matters is which side of that score you're on.
Brodeur and Roy were both fortunate enough to play for great teams. How do you think Brodeur would do playing for the Panthers?

I wasn't talking about the Canucks, I was just talking in general. If you are as much of an expert on hockey as you claim to be, you would know that it's not always the BEST team that wins the Stanley Cup, sometimes it's the HOTTEST team. Look at how many times Detroit went out in the first round or second round after winning the President's Trophy for the most points during the regular season.

Oh silly, didn't you read my post carefully????

I said the "...best team....AT THAT POINT IN MAY, WHATEVER". Never said the best team in the regular season, plenty of 1st round upsets. but obviously, it's the best team between the final 2 teams, it's not rocket science at that point, right? lol

-Canucks:
3rd / 4th lines not strong enough in goals
Defence is not really deep at all.
They might make the 3rd round but that's it.
Finally, maybe a fellow canucklehead can talk some sense into Tacky Tracky; 3rd & 4th line have no potential at all. If Wellwood, Raymond are considered the offensive forces on their lines, ouch, watch out, they can do some major, major damage...maybe even unseat the Swedish Meatballs off the power play, right Trackie?:p
