You know guys, it's threads like this that make a guy scared to post ANYTHING to this board. It's supposed to be for reviews right? But god forbid your first review turns out to be great and you actually say that! You'll get hammered by the same couple of dudes calling you a shill and a woman until you hit the magic number of posts, or have a sufficient number of hard-luck reviews to become "one of the boys".

What I don't understand, is that poor Eric didn't even write anything "unbelievable". His review is consistent with others on both Mariah and Dakota (both of whom I'd be very happy to see), and he's not over the top. So he's a good writer. That appears to be his only crime here...

It seems to me, that this board should be encouraging as many reviews as it can get.

There are a couple of obvious reasons I see as to why only a couple reviews are posted each week:
- there’s not a huge user base, as it's a little more specialized than say a movie review site.
- there’s a general sense of hostility when any review is posted, unless it's by "one of the boys".

This is a (brand) new hobby for me, and I'd love to be able to come to a place where I am welcome to comment as I see fit, and listen to others do the same. In the end, I'm hoping that I can learn from others experiences to make better choices for myself. I find is frustrating that the experience is often marred by having to wade through the attacks on the very people who are trying to accomplish what the board is designed to do - provide SP reviews.

So I'm undecided now, but in the next couple of weeks when I break my SP cherry, I'd like to post a review. It would be nice, by that time, if those of you who are lurking in the bushes ready to pounce on new reviewers have had a chance to think about what you're really doing here, and can work on ways to better welcome the new members rather than shooting them down, it would be appreciated. I believe your intentions are sound – you’re trying to help steer others away from bad experiences – but your methods are coming across as uninviting and not helpful in any way.

Me, I’m hoping to be a contributing member of this board for a long time. I’m looking forward to participating in many conversations and reviews, and I hope the environment becomes one that welcomes new users with open arms and thanks them for their contributions.

There several ways to get banned. An sp gets banned thru: unpaid advertising (using posts in any way that promotes herself, her services, rates, etc even if it is just to confirm "i do that!", an actual ad posted in advertising area while unpaid (un-red), or posting constantly in review threads as a way to promote or remind readers of services/availability, etc) OR by creating multiple handles, using these other handles to promote themselves thru placing fake reviews (or supporting/rebutting real reviews with fake-guy-handles posting comments in real reviews)

If she hasn't done either of these things, and her name is not listed in Perbatory, it is possible that all that has happened is that the offending posts have been deleted and she still does have access. Or she is under investigation and temporarily suspended until confirmed.

Join, post in other threads, comment on other reviews if you've seen someone, post in lounge threads, establish some credibility. mr stiffie brings up valid points, in the pursuit of getting honest reviews we need to make sure that we don't discourage new reviewers. reviewers and sp always have a first review and sometimes a new sp isn't reviewed by someone with 1000 posts behind them, but still there review counts

I would recomend off the bat that before you befriend Gina you do some research and find out what kinda drama she can be. Read some past posts from her and you will find she has been at the center of a lot of shit and as a result has been banned frequentlty for her behavior.

Reviews are welcome on the board and you have no reason to worry. If you lurk you will see that the high majority of reviews are welcomed and are appreciated.

Another thing being new, is that you most likely don't realise the shills as easily as those that have been around the board longer. As well there are those who will try to use the board to be manipulative.

Anyway be sure to learn the board and you will be fine.
