I've been taking a break, had to help all those weak Nuckleheads like HotAc jump on the bandwagon :)

Living up to expectations? geez, that means you guys are already mapping out the Stanley Cup route? LOL...

don't think this team is sending fears down Detroit's back...
Why always with the extremes? Nobody said that the expectation was for the Canucks to be better than Detroit. The expectation is to make the playoffs. The bonus would be anything beyond that. The "Dream" would obviously be to win the Stanley cup. I haven't seen anyone post any unrealistic expectations.

The Sedins are 17 and 22 in scoring. 30 teams times 3 players on their respective top lines equals 90 top line players. 17th and 22nd amongst 90 players isn't too bad! Count me amongst the many saying that the Sedins would make a great 2nd line, but you have to admit, they are right up there.

I CANNOT believe people are referring to the Sundin/Kessler/Demitra line as the, "RPM" line. Two good games and they get a name? Come on now. It is great to see Mats finding his feet, but he hasn't played long enough to say how well he is actually doing, how good the RPM  line is, nor what the 'Nucks can expect from him in the playoffs.

BJH, people are allowed to get excited when the Canucks do well. They are also allowed to be excited when the players do well. Not everything is a comparison to Detroit, nor the elite players in the NHL. I'm not sure why you have to make a negative spin on any positive comments that people make about the Canucks. Nor why you have to call these fans, "Nuckleheads" or state that they are bandwagon fans  Nor am I sure why you think that slamming the fans makes you a "True fan"

To all of the Canucks fans out there, I too am happy to see how well the Canucks are doing right now. I think we're in for a tight race down the stretch!

Here's a question, do you think that they will make any big moves at the deadline? It's coming up fast!!! Always an exciting time. The rumours, the possibilities, the chance to play arm-chair GM!!!

I've got to say, as a long-time through-thick-and-thin Canucks fan, I'll be disappointed if we don't make it to the second round of the playoffs this year. Conversely, I'll be thrilled if we make it past the second round. Realistically, I don't like our chances of a full-on race for the cup. JMO.

Read that clown's (Thatotherguy) review right after your's; he'll be disappointed if the Canucks don't get to the 2nd round? is he for real? Obviously, he doesn't watch enough hockey to notice that the canucks have only won 1 round of playoff hockey in recent memory...and now you wonder why i laugh at the Nuckleheads, they're hilarious; i'm laughing at them, i'm laughing with them ;)

they should just be happy to make the playoffs w/ this heartless team and no finish. No playoff hockey, no desire, no killer instinct.

I'm not being extreme or negative, it's just the fact, Trackstar. Look at the wins here, and even you're getting excited over the trading deadline?

How about getting a few playes WITH playoff experience, AND winning playoff experience as well? Not losers like Sundin who failed to lead the leafs to any memorable playoff encounter.

yup, we sure can count on these gutless Swedes in the playoffs where the checking's tougher, the hitting is much harder, the intensity is cranked up a few notches that the Sedin Sissies have proven that they are useless in the playoffs. Do they score clutch goals? big goals in Game 7s?

we need plenty of help to win in the playoffs.

And you can sure count on Bieksa on taking more stupid penalties too ;)

How much does he need to know to be a fan? He enjoys watching the game and hopes for his team to win. I can tell you who my fave bands are and love to watch them play, but could not tell you their member's names, how many good or bad shows they have played, or can speculate on whether or not they will win a Grammy this year. I guess some would argue that I am not a, "True fan", yet I still enjoy watching them perform.

The bad side is, that if the Canucks won the Stanley Cup, rather than be a happy fan, cheering wildly for the boys, you would be on here making fun of the elated fans, stating that it was only luck. Chill, watch the game, have some fun speculating, debate to your heart's content, but why insult the fans for speaking their minds?

This is the team that we have. If you're not a fan, you're not a fan. Going on about a history that involves different owners, management, coaching staff and players (and how it relates to the present team) makes no sense. Mellow out. Have some fun with the, "What ifs", or what you would like to see. People don't want to talk hockey with you because they know what your response will be. Being negative and condescending gets old really quick. You're a nice guy on every other type of thread. Why change for these ones?

Oh, I watch plenty of hockey. I've just been disappointed with my team a lot over the last few years. Doesn't stop me from supporting them. It makes it hard to get excited about them sometimes (OK, a lot of the time), but I'll support them through thick and thin (mostly through thin over the last I-can't-even-count-how-many years).

Yep. Gutless Swedes like Zetterberg, Lidstrom, Lilja, Kronwall, Samuellson. LOL the team that BJHunter is calling the elite team in the league is peppered with European players including 6 countem, gutless Swedes.

Some hockey expert.
I won't say I'm an expert on those experts, but you shouldnt be twisting my words, just to make your point ;)

I've been anti-naslund, anti-sedins sisters, & anti-Sundin. None of these soft Swedish Cheese has done anything in the playoffs...so that's my point.

Now, if you can find any resemblance of playoff success that translates to winning the big prize, then yes, you're right, i'm the hockey expert on swedes.

and is there anything wrong w/ supporting Canadians, this is our sport!

Yup, gutless Sedin sissies who haven't done anything in the playoffs.:D

I'm not really a sports fan of any description but T o g just hit the nail on the head!

On a lighter note: What do the Canucks have in common with Billy Graham?

They can make 20 000 people stand and say "Jesus Christ!"

Cheers! WS.

Vancouver Canucks need some D.
Another supporter! I've been saying that all along. For some reason, though, and it's not just the Nuckleheads, but ppl seriously think the Nucks are one of the Top 5 teams in the league. Probably based on some stupid statistical category, but was due to Luongo--last year.

Don't see anyone on D that would scare opponents; no Pronger, no Lidstrom, no Campbell, no Boyle. but i guess maybe it's true about the 'sum is bigger than its parts'...whatever that saying is...

But come playoff time, we know this:

1. Bieksa will take stupid penalties at a stupid time
2. Salo will be injured
3. Ohlund will be disinterested after playing out his option if he hasn't been signed or traded by the deadline
4. Mitchell....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
5. Shane O'Brien? don't think 3/4 of GM place kknows who he is...

and I can't even think of the other 3 off the top of my head, lol....

Don't be surprised to see the Leafs send Kaberle to the Canucks for Cody Hodson and a draft pick. Burke is high on this kid after what he showed at the WJC. They need a puck moving defenceman and Sundin likes him alot.
He's also a bargin at $4 million for another 3 years.

Bruins / Sharks Final in 2009.
Sorry, dude, the Sharks will choke in the playoffs (as always....)

Who do you think chokes more though: Sharks or the Nucks?

Remember that year, in the last game of the season, after the game, that beautiful, vocal, classy, articulate, the team captain, Markus Naslund, took the microphone and apologized to the fans and said, "Sorry that we choked?..."

Yup, that's what we get for a European captain...except the beloved Nidstrom wouldn't do such a thing...why? maybe a history of winning there in the last decade or so would help, something that's never happened here...

LOL:D :D :D :D :D :D

Well, considering the past few years, it's not a valid comparison, as the Nucks would have to actually make said playoffs in order to choke in them... LOL

Yes, I am an arse... LOL

The only reason Montreal won was that Halak stood on his head in net. The Nucks were the better team on the ice.
I don't know about that. Luongo made some very good saves also.

SOG don't tell the whole story. The Habs had several great chances that were not
recorded as SOG becuz they were blocked or missed the net.

Yeah, Luongo had some really good saves, and SOG never tell the whole story, but realistically the Habs were outplayed for almost the entire game. Halak had a fantastic game, though, and he really deserves the full credit for the win.

well, if a team has to rely on Luongo to really bail them out, then how good is these Nucks then? Nuckleheads, give your heads a shake.

Unless it's Patrick Roy or Martin Brodeur, who continually excel for years, Luongo is not in that calibre. Where was he in New York and Florida? remember the vancouver media, they love building up the hype over nothing. It's their way of getting chummy w/ the Nucks management.
