The reality is that whether it is Starbucks or Legends, they do not have to explain why someone was let go. If you have a good relationship with that person, you are going to find out where they end up and move your business to that new location. End of story.
No they are not obligated by law to tell us why they let her go, but lets be clear, if you called Legends yesterday and asked for Dakota, the told you not that she doesn't work there any more, but that the FIRED her, for the good of the customers!!!!!!!
