Intro "Hi", & a bad cash-dash-blackmail experience

Hi everybody!
I stumbled into this board while looking for information about some of the craigslist advertisers.
I really regret that I didn`t know about perb forum sooner.
You see, I was the unfortunate fool who`s craiglist warning was posted at
https://perb.cc/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=71841 .

I`ll be writing about some of my future experiences to share with you all as my contribution. But now, I`d like some of you advice.

It`s about this Kathy Myers con artist mentioned in the linked thread. I have emailed her several times asking her to explain why she did took off with the money without any explanation, after we spent a couple of days "romantically" taking strolls at the beach, in the forest trails and at restaurants. We kissed, groped, made out like teenagers, but no more than that. She`s emailed back a couple of times saying not to bother her and to stop wasting her time. The last email stated she will call the cops because I was harrassing her, and she said she has my picture, and she knows my license plate number, the color and the make and model of my car. She also said she will call my S.O. and ruin my family if I don`t stop emailing her.

But as far as I know, she only knew the make and model of my car, its color, but maybe not my license plate number. Yes, she had seen my car from about 3/4 of a block away. And the picture she has had my eyes and a part of my nose blacked out. She also knows my height and approx weight, I guess. ? I did not give her any other personal identifying details, except a phone number from Yahoo Phone-In service. And my emails to her were very respectful and sincere, asking for an explanation. I did not make any aggressive threats, and I did not call her names.

My question is, if she had my license plate number, and color and make of my car, can she actually find out my identity? Does she have grounds for police to take her case seriously?

Leave her alone, and you won't have to worry. You got fucked dude. Sorry to be the one to break the news, but she is not interested in you so just leave it alone unless you wanna take a chance at how much info she has on you. Have a beer and let it go.

Not sure if you are aware, when you file a report with the RCMP you do have to give your first and last name, and explain wtf is going on. Do you really want to make it public that you got ripped off, and then have it come back to bite you in the ass, in more ways then one? Think with the big head this time

If you have the car`s license plate number it`s easy to find the registered owner. There`s at least one online lookup where you pay a small amount or you can use a financial industry source.

Since everything is on at least one database, all you need is a person that needs a little extra money and has access to the database.

What a couple of the other replies said: walk away and just chalk it up to experience. Pursuing her for the money she took is more than likely going to open a can of worms you really don't want opened.
