Truffles/Truffle oil??

I need to buy black truffles as well as white truffle oil for a dish I am making for some youth today.

Where can I buy truffles (not the chocolates)? Burnaby/Coquitlam area is best for me!

Fresh truffles are a little out of season. You'll be lucky to find them. You can probably get truffle oil at any gourmet/italian food store. I don't know your area that well, but a place like Capers should have them as well.

As a bit of a foody myself, I have found it is a wasteland outside Vancouver proper for many gourmet foodstuffs.

For sure, you will get truffle oil at Urban Fare, in Yaletown, or Meinhardts, on Granville and 14th.

Fresh truffles - not sure. Winter Truffles are at the end of their season, and Summer truffles are not out until May...

Perhaps try phoning the 2 above mentioned businesses - see if they have any or know where to get them...

Gourmet Warehouse is a great place for culinary specialty items at very reasonable prices and (yay!) they're no longer hidden in a lane by the kiddie stroll..new location, 1340 East Hastings.

There's also Urban Fare and Meinhardts. In Burnaby you might find something like that at one of those little italian grocery stores around Hastings and Sperling-Willingdon areas
