Nirvana - Nevermind
Nine Inch Nails - The Downward Spiral
Metallica - Enter Sandman
Tool - Opiate
Smashing Pumpkins - The Siamese Dream
Pearl Jam - Ten
R.E.M - Automatic for the People
Green Day - Dookie
Radiohead - The Bends
Jane's Addiction = Ritual de lo Habitual
Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger
Alice In Chains - Dirt

I know it's tiresome to see these, but consider being a teenager when they were new to the scene. Most of these albums were released within 5 years of each other. A true musical revolution, imo....

When I was in university in the, ahem, 70's, I got involved with a bunch of guys totally into music. I was too, but no where near the level these guys were. One album above all changed things for me forever. And if you know your music history, you will know that much of the British Blues came from John Mayall and his Bluesbreakers. Mick Fleetwood, John McVie, Peter Green, Mick Taylor, Clapton, Jeff Beck for a stint, the list goes on and on of seminal acts that came from his bands.

Anyway, this one double record changed how I viewed music forever.

Edit: I used to bring this album (actually cassette) with me on trips to Saudi. Somehow it made the surreal experience of driving through the desert at 200KM/hr with the stereo cranked up to 11 to drown out the jingle of the overspeed alarm seem more "normal".
