I recently bought a box of n95 masks made locally in Coquitlam by novotextiles. These are ASTM certified. I've been using cotton masks up to now and these n95s are a revelation. So breathable, so light, I'm hardly even know I'm wearing them. The bridge forms a great seal too and it doesn't fog up my glasses.

I'm not personally affiliated with them and I just want to recommend them to the community. Not expensive either - $40 for a box of 50 if you pick them up.

Edit: strictly not n95s, but surgical masks with 98% filtration capability. Sorry.

I don't see N95 masks available online.

Thread fail. There are no links to or companies mentioned in this thread that manufacture any N95 masks.

They’re selling the headband variant to the public now.

I have barely used these since I left the lower mainland but they seem to be as high quality and air tight as those I’ve fit tested before and used in construction years ago. I’ve seen them in use in news footage from hospitals too.

Just throwing in on this, Novo Textiles disposable surgical masks seem to me to really be a cut above the garden variety ones in big box stores, generally available from amazon and so on. Back when the whole pandemic was starting, I figured well shit I have to get some masks so I imagine like everyone else I bought whatever and within a month of use found that the flimsy ones, and in particular the el cheapos that had the ear strings break were just a waste of money. A few months ago one of my friends mentioned locally made good masks, so I sourced out and bought a box. Maybe a bit more money but honestly these things feel more cloth like than the garden variety and the strings are better attached. Plus they seem to fit better, all around. Strong recommend from me!!

My bad, they're surgical masks. I always thought they're one and the same but I guess they aren't. They do filter out 98% of particles though.
