Dear Racists; Your behavior is no longer acceptable in Canada . You have shamed us long enough and I think it is time you applied for a green card to Trump land.

Eventually you are going to be caught on camera and you will lose your jobs and your families will be ashamed of your behaviour. Your life will never be the same.

We are giving you your chance to leave our Country before we catch you or you will need to accept the consequences of what is going to happen to you.

Of course you will grovel and apologize for your behavior but you are not going to shake things off so easy. It's too late and it's over for you so get used to your new life.

The incident in the linked article is obviously abhorrent, and is in no way acceptable in any sort of civilized society. This sort of behaviour should be dealt with in the courts, though.

The problem with a trial by media, or social media, is that a grainy cellphone video usually only shows a small portion of an interaction. it rarely shows the lead up to what occurs. And being social media; it's easy enough to portray events in a certain light - when the timing is opportune. Again, not that this particular incident is anything other than fairly clearcut...

I do have to break the bad news to Monsieur Coeur, Canada is far from the only country with racism (albeit I'd say the current "problem" with racism is being amplified rather handily by opportunistic politicians and the like); every country has some form of prejudice or outright hostility to resident groups or outsiders. I'd dare say Canada has done quite a number on itself apologizing (multiple times) for incidents that occurred which are considered problematic to our modern perspective. I do have to wonder, though, what the point of apologizing time and again for a given incident (or incidences) is if the aggrieved party never offers any form of forgiveness - which is the only way to begin moving forward.

In closing, put your fucking cellphone away and quit trying to play vigilante; leave the administration of justice up to the courts. You know what, put your fucking cellphone down for a few minutes a day and go interact with people in a setting other than an echo chamber; go enjoy nature while the weather is decent.

Nothing blurry about the video for the person to be identified and the police charging him, but you have the balls to suggest she may have done something? The sad thing is that the OP doesn't realize that everyone is racist because if we are to believe some "academics" many people exhibit micro-aggressive racial tendencies. No one is safe, whether it's true or not.

If you think you are in control all of the time, you are wrong. Sometimes humans say things they don't mean, its just the heat of the moment when they are angry etc (mostly thinking arguments here). I tend to think that firing a person for a racial slur is wrong, unless there is more concrete proof that the person says that shit on a consistent basis. Education. Is that person that said the bad words being discriminated against by his employer and or social media for a one time thing?
People rarely think through the full consequences of their actions.
Take someone who swears a lot. People will take advantage of that person by trying to lord over that person's habit of swearing. Fuck is a very useful word. And People are very manipulative. So I have no good feelings about people who try to dictate/manipulate how you should be by taking advantage of your weaknesses. Fuck them.

Sorry so when are Canadians gonna expel the Aboriginals that are racist against the white man? What about any coloured person who hates white men? Exporting racist, and or firing an racist dosen't stop the racism, it only increases it. Education and getting people on their feet financially is the key to eliminating racism. If you can justify this person's behavior as"heat of the moment" act or lapse in judgement then you are not seeing the video as I saw it. The girl did not provoke him in any way and there is only one explanation that is possible. This was a hate crime and there was an assault that occurred.

People who find excuses are more or less framing it around discrimination in their own hearts. You saw this as excusable. Yes it would be christian to forgive but many Christians are bigots, racists and haters.

This guy should lose his job and everyone finding excuses for it should really be ashamed of their defense of this act.

The only way to have any substantial effect on racism if for society as a whole to declare it unacceptable and to stand up and say no more. Police have laid charges. And by the way telling people to pull out their cell phones to record crimes and post to social media to identify criminals is not an act of vigilantism. It is a civic duty.

Pierre, I answered this thread in general, I didn't watch the video.
There is stuff about judging and being judged. The world is a shitty place. Its not fair. When you take someones actions and you act like the judge, jury and executioner, are we any better than that guy in the video (which I didn't watch)?
There is stuff/philosophy about "creating a new man everyday" .... meaning to better ourselves daily, casting off sin (I think it was a religious philosopher that said it).
I am also being a devil's advocate in general about the racism card/systemic racism/social media outcall on racism. Why?

It’s kind of human nature to be suspicious of someone different.
