Just spent some money on Lotto Max.

They say odds of a $5 ticket winning the jackpot are 1 in 28.6 Million.

I think odds of the winning ticket being from Ontario are much much higher. Also, many winners are senior citizens. Also, based purely on photos, many winners are of Asian origin. Factor all that with my crappy luck and my odds of winning are about 1 in 28.6 billion.

IF I win though, that would mean 183,333 visits to SP's (@300/hr rate) so wish me luck, Ladies!

But realistically if I do win, one SP a day x $300 x 365 days x 20 years = Just over two million. Ok so 2 mil for me and SO can keep the rest.

Let the dreaming begin!!!!!!!!! ..

I'm always amazed at how much some people spend on lottery tickets. I've seen people lay out a couple thousand in $100's to buy those dumb scratch cards, to get back "play again" or $10.

You can't win if you don't play.
Instead of over priced coffees, fast food, a couple of beers and other daily sundry items that the instant-gratification society and media pushes at me, $20 a week towards the big ticket items (not scratchies) is a drop in the bucket.
My portfolio can handle it!

Interesting that "Never" is not an option in this poll. :)
I guess my poll is based on my assumption that inside all of us humans, there is a bit of greed and desire to be rich.
:) But I take you voted, if you did, option 3. Thanks.

I rarely play. But if the jackpot hits $50 mill or so, I might grab a quick pick. Just so you're in the draw.

I think I might buy 1-2 tickets in a year.

A friend who buys $20 every week or two has won $30 more than me, so I am about $900 up on him without playing.

I guess that same singular ticket for a $35 M jackpot isn't worth it then?
:) :) :)

Try as you may, you'll never catch up with wintersurfer :pound:

It's buying a dream and not a good retirement plan. Always nice to dream.

When I read your post, I did buy a couple of tickets after gassing up.

Good luck everyone!

Not trying to catch up with wintersurfer, or anyone else for that matter, just having my own fill. Btw, I said that as a joke, I hope you got it.

Im in a work pool lotto $5 a week and sometimes we have a second weekly pool. We actually won something like $1500 a couple years back but between 20 plus people we just kept it in the lotto fund for a few extra months until we ran out.

Atleast the dream of winning big is nice!

When the 6/49 hits 10 or so, I will pick up a ticket, and when the Lotto Max hits 30+. It's all about the jackpot size, if you win, you really want it to be FTW money, it would be great to win a million, but in Vancouver, you cannot retire on that, so I only really want to win the bigger ones. The max tickets are more expensive and the odds longer, hence the larger win required to get me to part with my money.

There was a group buy on TERB, Fred was a massive lotto nut, but I am not sure if they still bother now that he's gone.

Yes!!!! I won!!! Just checked the numbers !!

I can't believe my eyes! I have not won anything in a long time! Although I have won, I told my SO that I am not going to change much. I still want to keep working and have all my friends. I will still be the sam old take8easy for you guys.
I had already planned how to spend my winnings. So I am going to invest it all in more lottery tickets. All of $10.

I need to lie down and let my nerves calm down,
