I'm baffled by men who don't care about meeting women or having sex

I know a couple of men who range from late 30s to late 40s, who have shown little to no interest in meeting women, dating or having sex. Seeing an SP would be out of the question for these guys. These guys are content to watch sports and movies, and play video games and sports. They seem content with life being that way. These guys are both heterosexual, beta male types, on the nerdy side, and not what women would call attractive, but at the same time, I don't see that as a reason to completely neglect or forget about women and sex. I know there is more to life than women and sex, but ZERO effort doesn't make any sense to me.

I'm quite baffled by this as I think being in the company of a woman or women is a worthy pursuit and an important part of life. Not just the sex, but the personal interaction as well as the idea of having a family. I'm not sure if it's a normal thing that a small percentage of men do not care about women and put no effort into dating or finding sex ... or are these guys are just nuts and are missing the big picture? Or is it possible they have internalized their lack of attractiveness, and their lack of interest in women is a defense mechanism towards rejection?

Does anyone else know people like this? Maybe you can help me make sense of it, haha.:confused:

I don't think this should baffle anyone at all. In a population, you're bound to get anyone and everyone from all walks of life; and this is no different. The better question might be, how representative of the population are these folks?

We all choose to live life how we see fit. There can be a lot more going on in the lives of these men than what we see on the surface. If this is what makes them happiest in life, at no hindrance to anyone else, then why are we in any position to critique them?

I personally don't agree with the philosophy of that lifestyle, as I find a sense of family and community to be of utmost importance, as they bring me the greatest joys in life. But if someone is at peace with themselves the way they are, I'm happy for them too.

Random aside: Most of the population is become more left-leaning, but I find that the left are not as tolerant as they make themselves out to be.

There have always been the oddballs, the socially awkward and the indifferent, but it is much much worse now because there are so many isolating distractions.

We barely have to leave home to get food, we mostly communicate through gadgets, we can have circles of friends we never actually meet or interact with beyond gaming, emails, texts, message boards or phone calls.

There is also the stress of having to always be on call for work, and put in crazy-long hours when there.

Through advertising we're told we have to be perfect to be successful with women - be rich, wear the right clothes, have the right grooming, put on the right scent, say witty things or have the right car. From porn we're shown we have to be ready and able to have sex any time, any where, have a nine inch schlong and do it multiple times in a row. A number of SP's have commented to me on how many guys in their 20's and 30's who can't even get it up, or are using Viagra to perform.

It's just a whole lot easier never to jump into the pool for a lot of guys.

Yea you basically described my last 8 years. I had a very healthy dating life before career took priority and after a while you get so stressed and lose your social flirting skills it is very hard to get back into the dating game (especially once you are in your thirties). It is the reason I started seeing sp's pretty much.

Always had offers for FWB's though.. Toronto is a weird ass place. I have never partook because I "thought it was weird"...

And now. Lol. I think this hobby got me over a lot of societal stigmas, of which I am grateful for. It's 2017 and the world is getting more and more progressive, woohoo!

Thanks for the input guys. As far as these guys go...one major detail that I forgot to include is that both these men are virgins and likely never kissed a girl. Although I know one has been on a few dates. That's a much different scenario than guys who have dated girls and had sex... and then got too busy or sick of dating.
