This bill is a rubics cube. I've tried to search for info on this but couldn't find much. If it's out there, please point me in the right direction and feel free to delete/lock this thread.

Section 213/213.1 makes it illegal for anyone to provide or obtain sexual services for consideration in a public place or open to public view. This is a summary conviction.

Section 286.1 makes it illegal to obtain for consideration or communicate for the purpose of obtaining sexual services for consideration anywhere. This is a hybrid conviction.

So does this mean that if you're charged (for obtaining) under section 213, you'd be charged under section 286.1 as well?

And since 286.1 is a hybrid conviction, what in the hell could possibly determine whether you'll be charged with an indictable offence or a summary offence?

JFC already!
If you haven't figured it out yet then don't partake.
Hundreds of guys on here all enjoying the avails of SPs that provide various sexual services for money- and NO one has been busted- either way I might add- to my knowledge.
Either step up and join the game- if you haven't already- or just move on- you are coming across as a troll.
This thread will soon be closed as well I'm quite sure.

There are two kinds of people.
People who do things.
And people who talk endlessly about doing something but never do anything.

I'm sorry, but what the law says is not "clear' in this case. If it were, I wouldn't be seeing posts on here that read along the lines of "5 years if caught...time to retire."
A lot of people here have no idea what exactly the bill is saying.
What I've asked -- namely the second question -- are things that everybody who may be wishing to partake in this hobby should know so that they're able to make an informed decision.
It's the difference between thinking that if you get caught you'll spend 5 years in prison and thinking that if you get caught you'll spend a day in a diversion program.
I don't believe I'm out of line just for wanting some clarification on this.

It is illegal to purchase sex. End of discussion. It is being enforced in some places but NOT Vancouver as per VPD. As stated, if worried, find another hobby

LOL are you serious ? Speak for yourself. There are pages and pages of C36 discussion on these boards. I think if you've difficulty figuring out what C36 is saying you should just not partake to be on the safe side.
