Freddy is awesome. He was one of the first "cool" golfers in my book. Love his skater shoes he wears and he could still hit the ball a mile. If greatness in golf was measured by results from skins games he would be legendary.

Woods was the longest hitter on tour

pattern of behaiviour was typical of a steroid abuser and ask yourself why would he right a cheque to the Sweedish nanny for multiples of what she would get in a normal divorce

Woods was never the longest hitter on tour, he was second a few times in driving distance

and for christ sakes, he gave his wife money so he wouldn't have to live thru the media circus that would have revealed even more details of what kind of a douche he is if it would have dragged on

I disagree. Woods was always near the top in driving distance but was the longest and strongest out of the fairway or rough for the years he dominated. I also don't equate size with strength. I also don't think Woods was on just steroids. I think he was on other things like HGH, beta blockers and good old fashion coke.

Elmore, good for you being an 8. I find a lot of guys who are around that number don't play to it in BCGA events.

Gonzo. I agree the BCGA computers are quite forgiving. A real player includes his doubles when he enters his scores, most don't and they have a few every round and next thing you know they are single digit. Then the pro signs the back of their card and their off to a Zone qualifier where they shoot 87 with three "others".

BTW. I seem like a single voice in the wilderness on this PED and Tiger thing. It seems obvious to me but not to others.

Beverly Hills. In the Kitchen eatin' vittles.
Exactly. The tiger of old had a killer instinct. If he was leading in the final round, forget it, you were done, his foot wasn't coming off your throat. Then this tourney, he had more bogeys (3) in the final round than he did all week (2). He needs that edge back in order to win. that's between the ears, as Hoff has said. I don't believe he ever really juiced. The difference for him will be if he can deal with the pressure like before.
AGREE 100%.
I've heard 3 different interviews with 3 different top 10 players in the past several months and they all said basically the same thing. After dancing around the issue and trying to be as PC as possible, they all basically said with the old Tiger, most weeks the guys were all playing for 2nd place especially if he was ahead or close after 2 rounds. Now, nobody is afraid of him. Golf is 99% between the ears and Tiger is still messed up. Even though he won a few after his Dad died, I think he misses his Dad more than most realize if for nothing else that male role model you can talk to about anything and who will also grab you by the throat and give you a shake when you need it.

Is Federer messed up as well? I hate to say it but I don't think he will ever win a Grand Slam event again. He is past his prime.

Golf is not as physically demanding but golfers generally are not improving after 35. Their game is typically in decline. And Tiger is like those Russian gymnasts who started so early. Scandal and injuries aside, Tiger's best days were not ahead of him. His dominance will be a fond memory. But there aren't any golfers who have proven to be consistent week after week during his demise. Tiger will regain the number 1 ranking. He'll win over 100 PGA events when it's all said and done. And I think he will break Jacks record...or at least tie it.

Looking forward to seeing Tiger and Phil paired together on Sunday. It's just like the good ol' days.

The PGA tour will be very happy today as many people will finally be tuning back in to watch! Ratings will be through the roof!
That hits the nail on the head....I am going to enjoy it...if Tiger plays just a bit better than he has thus far and makes no bogey's the tournament is his.

Any idea what time it starts?

Tiger needs to stop helping Romo read putts and focus on his own. That missed birdie on the 2nd while he helped Romo make his, got him off to a poor start and now he is getting lapped by Mickelson. Good for lefty though. Tiger brings out the best in Phil. Mickelson should run away with this one.

It's sad to see. Tiger was way better when he was married and screwing anything with a pulse. Now he found his religion and stopped pooning he has lost his mojo.

Let that be a lesson to the youngsters out there :)

Tiger faded hard in the final round, phil got better. He's a long way from the tiger of old thus far.
Yeah I have to say Tiger failed today.....if Wi had not missed as many putts as he did he would have won easily.....still cant believe he missed so many short putts...same goes for Tiger....cripes he was bleeding to death on the 18th.

Personally I would rather play Mt.Kidd at Kananaskis over Pebble Beach anyday.

The next big tournament is the one that counts...the Masters.....and I am eagerly awaiting it.....I am also wishing I could attend it as a fan and enjoy the golf course that is heaven on earth which also serves up a delicious pimento cheese sandwich.

I give Tiger the edge for the Masters...he will be hungrier than Oprah after she has lived in a closet for a fortnight whilst subsisting on a packet of tic-tacs......and that is pretty fricken HUNGRY.

It was nice to watch , but what i see or saw was a Tiger that is missing a huge part of his game..... "confidence"
and anyone who plays the game knows that club is the most important one in the bag.
Will he ever find it , hmmmm , i dont think so , maybe once or twice but he is now just one of the many average players in a field of some young great talent.
I dont think he will ever dominate like he did ... he should come out of the closet and get a slutty Ho on his bag , and start fukking everything that walks again, instead of playing this born again bullshit.

Uh, I would think after Sunday, I would rather pick Hefty for the Masters.

He hit some great shots today, looks like he's finally figured the swing out. Now it's all gonna come down to the flat stick IMO.
I did not watch the tournament today as I forgot Tiger was playing...he has not played this early in the PGA tour in a very long time....from what I know he shot a 62 in the final round and I wish I had watched it instead of building up a huge chip stack at the poker table and slowly bleeding it away to double my buy in only to get my chops busted when I got dealt pocket aces.....so I too feel the sting of defeat today ;)

Tiger was solid. The biggest difference is that he is getting more comfortable hitting driver again. When he was hitting iron or 3 wood just to avoid the rough off the tee, he may as well be Zach Johnson. Golf becomes that much more difficult when your approaches are with mid and long irons. Tiger is past his prime but still good enough to beat anyone in any given tournament. It will be interesting to see him duel with Rory over the next few years.

I dug up this TW thread so I could vent a bit. Of course I've always thought he was a punk so his act yesterday was nothing shocking to me. I just wonder how long the networks and his fans will continue to kiss his ass. No matter how much poor treatment they get from him. Watching Jim Roberts chase after his Benz was sad.

Woods hates the media and the common people who are golf fans. Why do they still adore him?

Of course you always thought he was a punk...because...he went to Stanford? Yeah that must be it. All those Stanford kids are nothing but a bunch of punks.
